Home Description

Description of the home

Hello! I'm going overseas for a just 3 months and am keen for someone to take over my rent while I'm away. Ideally for July, August, and September, but that's somewhat flexible.

The place is in Richmond. The location is amazing and is also really quiet.
I walk everywhere so I don't use public transport that much, but it's only about a 3 minute walk from the tram (routes 48 and 75) on Bridge Rd and a 5/6 minute walk from the route 70 tram on Swan Street. Richmond train station, East Richmond station and West Richmond station are all walking distance too. I walk to city in less than 30 minutes. There’s heaps of cafes, restaurants and bars a couple of minutes away. Also lots of gyms on the doorstep - 24 hr ones, CrossFit, group classes, yoga, pilates, spin classes. It’s just a short walk to a couple of parks and the Yarra Trail (which is also perfect for anyone who likes to ride their bike).

There’s plenty of supermarkets and local grocers a short walk from the house. It’s also a 10 minute walk from the Epworth Hospital on Bridge Rd so would be ideal for someone doing a placement there. It’s also close to East Melbourne.

About the house:
I’ve been living here for 5 years, and I love it. It’s a three-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house, with a lovely outdoor area. There’s 3 of us in the house and we all work full time. Between work, gym etc a few days can go by without us bumping into each other. Because we’re busy with work and are up and out early in the mornings (before 6am) it’s a quiet house (most definitely not a party house). We do a mix of working from home and working in the office. I work from home 3 to 4 days a week, one housemate works from home 1 day a week and the other is usually 1 to 2 days. There’s never been any issues!

My room is a relatively small room (though maybe medium as I have a queen bed in it....), it’s at the back of the house so is very quiet. It has plenty of wardrobe space (double robes).

You will share the main bathroom with one other person (one room has an en-suite). But they’re rarely here so you’ll mostly have it to yourself!

Home features

  • Living area heating
  • Broadband Internet
  • Dishwasher
  • Clothes washer
  • Courtyard, garden or yard
  • BBQ facilities
  • Electronic security

Bills and expenses

All bills (wifi, water and energy) are split evenly between us (I'm pretty flexible on bills so we can sort something out if it's an issue).
Food-wise, we do our own thing (but every now and then we grab a takeaway).
If you buy something for the house (like cleaning products for example) we have a note stuck on the fridge where you can mark it down and all the costs will be added up)

About the occupants
There are two others living in the house (they're not a couple).

- 1 male, 30 years old
- Works full time in a marketing agency Mon - Fri and also works in hospitality at weekends.
- He's super active - loves playing tennis, cycling, and the gym - and is gone to either tennis or the gym at around 6am every day
- He also loves cooking (and is a great cook!).
- Between his work and exercise, he's generally only home late in the evening.

- 1 female, 34 years old
- Works full time in Allied Health, and she is also doing her masters part-time (she's almost finished though).
- She's also active and is up and out at the gym by 6am pretty much every morning.
- She is also a great cook and her baking is amazing (she's coeliac and makes the best GF cakes and slices)

They're both great housemates. They're quiet, clean, and considerate. We all get along really well :)
Compatible people
We're looking for someone of a similar age to the rest of the house. Someone friendly, tidy and considerate to other housemates (and our lovely neighbours!. A professional, working full time (or working and studying). Someone who likes to socialise every now and then! Cleaning is shared, there's no rota, we just take it in turns so it's important that you do your part!
