I prefer to go out to socialise rather than entertain at home (it's my own personal preference as I like to try new restaurants and bars). I'm comfortable with a flatmate who does host friends at home for dinner parties or chilled out catch-ups (sadly my days of regular partying are behind me, so a party-house just isn't my jam).
I tend to go back to the Gold Coast for ~1-2 weeks every 2-3 months so you'll get some space on a regular basis.
