Home Description

Description of the home

DETAILS
Nice little renovated 2 bedroom Semi, to share with one other (that'd be me), and currently a guest staying in the garage.
Technically in Earlwood, though actually closer to Canterbury Station (10 minute walk), and 200 metres to the Cooks River
Polished wood floors throughout
Decent kitchen & bathroom
Gas stovetop/oven
Gas heater in dining room
Ceiling fan in bedrooms and air conditioning in lounge room
Separate sunroom/study area
Laundry with 2nd toilet, washing machine and tub, dryer, clotheslines.
Grassed backyard with large undercover paved area for those outdoor moments.
Large garage, though currently has a guest staying in it. Still plenty of room for storage
Plenty of off-street and on-street parking
Close to railway station, and local bus services

THINGS TO KNOW:
The house is pretty much fully furnished, with all mod-cons. The available bedroom is currently tenanted, but will be emptied, cleaned and ready for action. Includes built-ins and ceiling fan.
I take custody of two boisterous but very friendly dogs 2-3 days a week, and there are two cats living here. So if you are allergic to, and/or have a problem with living with pets, this is not for you. For the same reason, I probably can't take any other pets unless you're willing to help manage their interactions.
Currently, I smoke (tobacco) like a bastard. But any such smoking can be confined to outdoors if that's a problem

Home features

  • Clothes dryer
  • Study or office

Bills and expenses

The rent of $350 per week is half the total weekly rent for the property ($600) plus contribution to bills/utilities for the following:

Electricity
Gas
Water usage
Home phone
Unlimited internet
Optus Fetch TV, including access to Stan and Netflix

I am happy to negotiate rent according to circumstances, and reserve the right to adjust bill contribution according to usage. So for the right person, we can make this work. Will probably need at least a couple of weeks bond, but again, entirely negotiable.

About the occupants
My name is Bow. I am a 48 year old straight male.

I have been working for many years in arts administration (predominantly music), more recently in the trade union movement and legal administration. I am also a recording/touring musician.

I typically work 8am-6pm on weekdays, am regularly out on weeknights either rehearsing or performing, and am often away doing gigs/touring on weekends.

I like to keep a clean and tidy house, and while I enjoy socialising, this can't really be described as a "party zone". The occasional consensual blow-out is allowed.

I like music, cooking, food, art, current affairs, social justice, animals, travel, conversation (but also occasional silence) - you know, all the traditional things.
Compatible people
WHAT I'D PREFER:

Someone who is:
In a similar age bracket to me (let's not get too specific here - say 35-55) or of equivalent "maturity"
Willing and able to contribute regularly to household staples, cleaning and maintenance
Friendly and creative and sociable, but who can appreciate the need for individual space/time

Someone who has:
A stable income and responsibility for timely payment
An appreciation for the finer things in life (by which I mean music, food, booze, conversation, politics, animals, etc, not hardcore drug addiction).
Description of pets
I take custody of two large and boisterous but very friendly dogs (Rosco 14yo and Gin 10yo) 2-3 days a week, and currently live with two cats (Mia 19yo and Dave 3yo). So if you are allergic to, and/or have a problem with living with pets, this is not for you. For the same reason, I probably can't take any other pets unless you're willing to help manage their interactions.
