Home Description

Description of the home

This is a secluded and spacious 4-bedroom house. The property is situated on 8 acres of bushland and the back of the property connects to the Shepard’s Hill Reserve. It's a great area to explore and bush walk through, with lots of friendly wildlife to look out for. We feel like we're living in the country while also being incredibly close to amenities. It's a great place to live if you're studying nearby at Flinders or it's a short drive to the Eden Hills train station if you're needing to get to the city

We have two living rooms, which can be closed off from one another, so we use the second living area as a study/office with room for 3 to 4 desks.

The main living room has a woodfire heater which is great in winter and makes the place feel cosy. There are also reverse cycles in the main living areas.

There is a bit of room for a veggie patch and there is an endless amount of backyard for any gardening enthusiasts.

Parking
We have two undercover car parks and room for two to three cars at the top of the driveway. The street ends in a cul-de-sac and is away from any traffic or pedestrians.

Pets
We have one indoor/outdoor cat. She’s quite friendly and has gotten on well with the current cat so I’m confident she would get along with other cats or dogs.
In regard to outdoor spaces, we don’t have fenced off areas suitable for leaving pets outside alone.

About the occupants
Hi, I’m Naomi, I’ve been living here for 8 months. Our “landlord” Meghan is moving back interstate at the start of December and I’ll be taking over the lease, so I’ll be needing a few housemates to help me out!

My partner Nick is moving in around December and we’ll be moving into the main bedroom and ensuite. Nick is 28 and I’m 24. We're both vegetarians and are trying to go vegan. I run a cleaning business and am in and out of the house for most of the week, I've also just finished a degree in Environmental science at Flinders Uni. Nick is relief teaching at the moment transitioning to permanent work. We spend most weeknights at home, relaxing with some drinks and making good food. We don't don't mind going out on the weekend for a couple drinks with friends but we're not huge partygoers.

Our other housemate Kendall is 26, she's also vegetarian. She periodically stays in the 4th room and will be staying with us until roughly the end of January. She studies Science at Flinders university and works most of the time.
Compatible people
We’re respectful of each other’s space and clean up after ourselves whenever it’s needed. We’re pretty easygoing people, not a hugely loud household but we don’t mind a chat when everyone’s home.

Vegans/vegetarians
This is a vegetarian household as our previous housemates have been vegan or vegetarian and we've found that we enjoy living with similar people.
Description of pets
My cat Ivy is about 9 months old. She gets along well with the current cat who will be moving out with Meghan, but I’m confident she’ll get along with other animals if need be. She is an indoor cat and will only go outside when I’m home.
