Description of the home

Great home located on the border of Box Hill South and Burwood.

Close to Deakin Uni (walking distance) and public transport (70 tram and 903, 281, 767 & 768 buses), shopping and parklands (Wattle Park).

It's a 2 storey townhouse, with 4 bedrooms. The entrance is on the ground floor and so is Bedroom 1 (taken by Yuki), the lounge, dining, kitchen, laundry, double garage with internal access and two outdoor areas (with outdoor setting and BBQ).

On the second floor are three bedrooms (one taken by Brydan) with built-in wardrobes and split systems, a study nook, and bathroom with separate shower and bath. The bathroom isn't used by Brydan as he has an en-suite. There's also an extra bathroom downstairs so it makes sharing the house and using bathrooms easier.

We've got a good sized kitchen (including dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and plenty of other appliances) with plenty of bench space, 2 fridges so there's heaps of space for each of us, plus a big chest freezer for those pre-prepared meals.

The laundry has both brand new washing machine and clothes dryer.

You will be sharing this home with a cat (Jax) who is really the boss.

Smokers are fine (outside smoking only).

We're pretty easy going and you should be too. There will be four of us living together and it should be a home, not just a share house. So you'd be a good fit if you're respectful, somewhat sociable and able to communicate well enough to avoid conflict between housemates.

We have a great dynamic and we're interested in getting the right housemates rather than just trying to fill the room. An ideal housemate will be good communicator, LGBTI+ friendly, cat friendly, and not racist, etc.

We eat meat, but don't mind if you're vegan/vegetarian. While we like everyone to be social rather than house-ghosts, this isn’t a party house. No couples, sorry (this is about having balanced dynamics).

This isn't necessarly a guys only place. We've had female housemates who have been a great balance. So we're open to having a guy, girl or gender-diverse housemate.

About the occupants
Hi,

We're Brydan and Yuki and we're looking for 2 new housemates.

We have a great house vibe, but two of them are moving out - which is why we're looking for some fresh faces.

Brydan - I work in mental health and tertiary teaching, after finishing studies in psychology. My interests include travel, TV, movies, socialising, cooking, etc - the normal stuff. I like to be clean and organised, but I'm not pedantic about it.

Yuki - I'm 22 from Japan and work in marketing after finishing my studies in Marketing Psychology. I'm very considerate, polite, like to cook, salsa dancing, cats even though I'm allergic to them, and Survivor, but don't like movies with needles or zombies or bugs.

Our other fur-housemate is Jax (cat) - he's arrogant, loves food, being combed, but has an avoidant personality disorder.

We like to hangout together sometimes of an evening, watching tv, maybe playing some card-games (monopoly deal, uno, etc), or having a meal, a drink and a chat; but we're not living in each other's pocket.

We're both vaxed.
Compatible people
We've got a good thing going with the home dynamics. We're looking for someone who will add to the dynamics of the home... someone who's easy-going, friendly, positive, considerate and respectful of others. People who are happy to socialise over dinner / a few drinks every now and again would be great, but also respectful that we are likely to be quite busy studying and working.

You'll be LGBTI+ friendly and cat friendly. Above all, you'll be a good communicator so as to avoid conflict within the house.

If you're after a drama free home and don't mind doing your fair share to keep the home clean and tidy, then we're probably on the same page. We have a cleaning roster so that everyone does their fair share.

Description of pets
Jax is a very handsome 6 year old domestic rescue cat and spends most of the day sleeping. He's shy at first and you probably won't see him when you inspect the house, but he'll slowly get used to you once and when he does, he'll soon expect you to worship him with attention.
