Ayesha & Jamal

Hello! We are Ayesha & Jamal.

We’re a friendly, respectful couple (female and male, both 27) who recently moved from the UK in November and have been loving life in Australia so far. We’re currently based in a share house but are looking to move closer to work and find a place with an en-suite for a bit more comfort and convenience.

I work full-time as a mental health medical receptionist here in Australia, and previously worked as a probation officer in the UK. My partner, Jamal, worked in sales back home and now drives Uber full-time, which gives him great flexibility. We both mostly work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, so we keep a consistent routine during the week.

We also have a very well-behaved cat called Tsuki. She’s used to living in a shared environment and is perfectly happy staying in our room. We have a leash for her and take her outside for supervised walks in the garden, so she’s well cared for and doesn’t cause any issues.

We’re on working holiday visas and plan to stay in Australia for up to three years. While we’d love to do some travelling during that time, we’re keen to maintain a stable base in Brisbane.

As people, we’re sociable, easygoing, and enjoy meeting new people, but we also really value our own space and a calm, respectful home environment. We’re clean, tidy, reliable with rent, and take pride in looking after where we live. We’re considerate housemates who communicate well and are mindful of others’ routines.

We’re really hoping to find a place that feels like home and where we can settle in comfortably.

What makes a good flatmate to us is someone who strikes a nice balance between being social and respectful of personal space. We enjoy getting involved, having a chat, or occasionally sharing a meal or drink, but we also really value downtime and a calm home environment.

Cleanliness is important to us—we appreciate people who take pride in shared spaces and clean up after themselves. We’re also big on open and honest communication. If something isn’t working, we’d much rather talk about it early and sort it out in a friendly, respectful way.

We value reliability and consideration—someone who pays rent on time, is mindful of noise (especially during the week), and respects each other’s routines. A positive, easygoing attitude goes a long way too, as we’re hoping to live with people who are kind, approachable, and contribute to a comfortable, drama-free home.

Overall, we’re looking for a household that feels relaxed, respectful, and genuinely enjoyable to live in.

We’re happy to occasionally share meals if we plan something together—always nice to have a house dinner now and then! Day-to-day though, we tend to keep our food separate, aside from the usual shared basics like milk or condiments.

We don’t currently have any furniture, so we’re ideally looking for a furnished place or a room that’s already set up.

Tsuki is the most loving, gentle, and quiet little cat—you’ll barely even notice she’s there! She’s very relaxed, well-behaved, and used to living in a shared house environment. She’s perfectly happy staying in our room and we take her out on a leash for supervised time outside, so she’s safe and well looked after.
