About this person
Hello there,
I'm Nicola, in my early thirties. Looking to go on a lease for the long-term.
I've spent the last two years sharing a house in the inner-north where I'd love to stay for a few more years. My current share house has been an incredible one, but it's time to move on to somewhere quieter to stay focused, write and continue recovery from PTSD.
I enjoy pondering the precariousness of our material existence, owning more books than I can handle, reading newspapers and complaining about being governed by a bunch of psychopathic oligarchs.
At the beginnings of learning how to read music and play the bass guitar and piano (with headphones). Playing bass in a band. Rescuing and transporting injured wildlife with Wildlife Vic. At the moment I'm looking for casual/part-time work. Planning to return to uni in 2025 to complete post-grad studies or another BA in writing. My previous BA majors were history and political science.
Always nice to play board games, share the day and life's dilemmas over cups of tea and glasses of red, walks, camp, nature watch. But I do mostly keep to myself and am more than happy if the people I share a house with do the same.
Hope to hear from you.

Important personal qualities
A good housemate is like a good neighbour. If you go away for a few days, every now and then they'll make sure your house is okay. If it's been a while since they've seen you, they knock on the door to check in.
Being considerate of other's needs to live in a comfortable space fosters a sense of solidarity.
Of course the paying of rent and bills on time is a must. Keeping a clean home is important, which I will do together with you.

Food sharing and furniture
It's lovely to share food sometimes. In my current share house we share foods like cakes, snacks and the occasional meal here or there. All the same, I have no issues with arranging food for ourselves.
I'm a guilt-ridden meat eater, but try not to eat it regularly.
Try to keep my physical fitness up with the use of a squat rack/chin-up bar and I do have gardening tools, plants and various shed type things so some storage space is something I'm after, but am flexible about this.
