About this person
Hello, I'm Gaia, 31, and about to start a Master's program in writing and publishing at RMIT. I currently live in Italy (alas, I'm Italian!), and work as a researcher in the language education field. I want to give myself another chance to follow my passion for books and anything written, so here I am. I will probably be mostly occupied with studying, and when not, with my research job and hopefully an extra part-time, so I will probably be very busy during the day. But I would love to spend the evenings (or any other time I am free!) together, cooking food and enjoying a good movie (or tv series or anime!), book, or chat! I tend to be a bit of a homebody, but I do love going on long walks, as well as visiting any place that's interesting and fun, especially if in good company.
Important personal qualities
I have been a flatmate since I was 19, when I first moved out to leave for University, so I have a long experience of respecting everyone's boundaries and rhythms, as well as adapting and adjusting my own to theirs. My flatmates throughout the years have always said of me that I make a house feel like home, and I try to live up to that expectation by being a quiet but involved presence. I like keeping things tidy and clean, and I expect everyone in the house to do the same too - I believe that cooperation, kindness, and dialogue are the keywords to a successful and serene house sharing experience. I like spending time with other people just as much as I like spending it alone.
Food sharing and furniture
I have no dietary restrictions and I like to eat pretty much everything! Since I enjoy cooking, I will most likely often cook at home and prepare my meals for when I am out. Of course, I would love to cook meals for everyone every once in a while! I am open to eventually doing a house shop every now and then to contribute to communal expenses, together with a personal one. Since I will be moving from Italy, I won't have much with me, except for my clothes and some of my most treasured possessions (mostly books and trinkets).
