Personal introduction
Hi. My first name is Anthony but I’m known by my second name, Paul. I’m an active, semi-retired 65 year old. I’ll be working as a casual Field Representative for the 2026 Census for three months from the start of July. After that I plan on returning to working a couple of days a week as a Driver/Tour Guide, a job I’ve been doing on a casual basis for the last three years. I also have access to my super, so I’m financially secure.
I’m looking for an unfurnished room in Torquay, Jan Juc or Breamlea. I'd prefer long-term, but am happy to agree on a shorter trial period to start with. Ideally I’d like somewhere with off-street parking but it’s not a deal-breaker. Depending on room size, access to enough storage space to stack a few crates might also be handy.
I enjoy socialising with housemates, but prefer to look after myself as far as food prep and the like goes. I’ve lived in a few share houses, so I’m well house-trained. I always clean up in the kitchen as I go and will do my share of other household cleaning tasks without fuss.
As far as my age profile goes, I’m happy to share with younger people. I recently completed a degree at La Trobe University along with a cohort of people a lot younger than me. I had no problems relating to them and made some enduring friendships along the way. Having said that, I’m not looking to move into a party house!
I’m a keen amateur musician and have a background in children’s theatre, having worked as a professional actor/puppeteer for 15 years as part of a varied working life. I write and record music on a computer-based system. I generally work with headphones and am always respectful of my housemates’ right to peace and quiet.
As far as other interests go, I walk for an hour or so every day and love swimming and body surfing, so I spend a lot of free time at the beach. I’m an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, and I like my sport, in particular AFL, cricket and motorbike racing.

Food sharing and furniture
I'm happy to participate in the odd house cook-up, but generally prefer to do my own food shopping and prep. I don't eat much meat, but I have no special dietary requirements. I only have bedroom furniture and a few stackable crates, all of which fits into a reasonable-sized room. In terms of storage, my bicycle and a large tool box are the only things I can't really keep in my room.
