About this person
Hey šŸ‘‹šŸ¾
My name’s Ru, I’m 24. I’m a social but independent person who enjoys a quiet and relaxed home environment. I don’t party much (lightweight over here šŸ˜…), but I do enjoy meeting new people and sharing a drink or chat with my flatmates.

I’m still fairly new to Sydney, so I’m not too picky about location, I’m mainly hoping to find somewhere I can stay long-term, and not too far from the city. I’m currently working in hospitality and would love to live with people around a similar age who are friendly, respectful, and easy to get along with.

Thanks so much for your time,
Ru šŸ’—

The biggest thing that makes a good flatmate, based on my own personal experience, is communication and comprehension, just like in any other relationship. If we are living together, I’d like us to be comfortable talking to each other, not just casually and potentially as friends, but also about any issues that may arise from sharing a space. Open and honest communication makes everything easier.

I’m also a very clean person, both within my own space and in communal areas, and I would appreciate living with someone who has similar habits. A shared space should feel comfortable for both of us, and that means being mindful of cleanliness and respecting each other's boundaries.

Beyond that, I think a good flatmate is someone you can genuinely get along with. We don’t have to be best friends, but it would be nice to have a dynamic where we can occasionally do things together—whether that’s grabbing a meal, watching a movie, or just having a chat after a long day. A positive and considerate environment makes all the difference when sharing a home.
Food sharing and furniture
I prefer to purchase my own food as I don't really plan my meals and just go off what I feel like that day. I'm mostly pescatarian (seafood), but I'm also iron deficient lmaoo so I eat meat like once or twice a month. I am however more than okay with going 50/50 on communal items (dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, sponges etc) as I've done this is every flat I've lived in. I'm looking for somewhere furnished or with a bed since I'm coming from New Zealand.
