Hi I'm Kat! It's nice to meet you.

My career has been in community work/education/social research... up until I didn't comply with you-know-what. I did this over concerns of existing (but undiagnosed) health conditions. Those health conditions now have diagnoses, but the impact of stress over the past number of years has left me unable to work at the regular (rat race) rate. I am officially unemployed, but am in the process of applying for the DSP - wish me luck hey?

I'm quiet and keep to myself mostly, but am interested in meeting people and making friends if we click well. I get along with all walks of life and cultural backgrounds. I have travelled within Australia, USA, UK, and SE Asia, and since I'm not in a position to travel any more - I'd love to hear your travel stories!

I am power-conscious, having lived off-grid for 11 years in Tasmania. I can provide years of power bills showing my low-use. This means I rarely, if ever, use a heater or air conditioner. For winter I rug up and spend more time in bed - I do use an electric blanket - the secret to my survival! What some people won't like about me? I keep my meals simple... but lean towards carnivore, so will be mostly cooking meat. My idea is an undercover outdoor area to do this. If that isn't available... I'm going to have to do that cooking inside - sorry!

My illnesses are pain and fatigue related, with mornings being worse. My perfect schedule is 10pm to 10am in bed - I know it seems excessive, but this is ME/CFS - and what I have found to keep life manageable. In my up time - after looking after myself and home, I listen to audiobooks, do crafts (currently felting, and about to learn macrame), and keep in touch with friends (online and in-person). I also enjoy pottering around the garden if there is one. I'll never ask to hold a party - not even if it's a big b'day date for me - I'm just not that type of person. You might have to ask me to invite a friend around... otherwise I'll just see them at their homes/out and about.

I'm seeking a (mostly) quiet, homely environment, preferably with some connection to nature, whether by its location, own garden, or nearby parks.

I'm also open to a wide-range of locations. I'm currently in Gippsland/Moe region, but would consider options between there and Melbourne.

Did I say I was on JobSeeker? Yep, that means I'm looking at the cheapest options available.

Clean, tidy, considerate. No need to live each others' lives... but also, it's nice to make friends along the way!-

I am flexible with furniture - I have my own but can also store/downsize what I own currently. I prefer to self-cater in the food department, though shared meals every so often are welcome. I keep my kitchen work simple, but lean towards carnivore, so will not survive in a vegetarian household (I was vegan for 6 years - loved it... but my body did not).
