My name's Jay, I'm a 23 years old trans man and I have just moved to Newcastle from Sydney to be closer to my family. I currently work full-time as a server/bartender so am out most evenings (sometimes lunch), coming back home late. My hobbies include reading mystery books, playing video games (either PC, DS or switch), trying new cooking recipes, drawing (I've just graduated with a degree in animation!) and thrifting for old dvd's and electronics. Even though I don't have any pets (My cat lives back in Sydney) I absolutely adore animals and am more than fine if you have some ! While I do keep to myself, I love joking around with my friends and going out for a drink when I can.

Compatible people
Being tidy and mindful of communal spaces like kitchens or bathrooms, respectful of personal privacy and noise are the main qualities I look for in a roommate. I'd feel most comfortable living with other queer people and/or people who are openminded as well as kind and considerate. While it is certainly not a dealbreaker, living with people around the same age as myself would be a plus. Something else that is deeply important to me having lived with roommates before is being able to share communal spaces without any awkwardness and to be sociable and friendly. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to communal meals, evening drinks or movie nights every so often. Ultimately though things like active communication, trust and having a good, friendly relationship is what I am looking for in a roommate :]
Food sharing and furniture
I'd be happy to cook or partake in communal meals every so often as well as share things like pantry stapes (spices, flour, etc.) but would prefer to have my own food. From my work I receive free dinners though am happy to share any that I don't like (hope you're a fan of Italian food). I have no dietary requirements, I only ask that food preparation spaces and all that are kept clean and tidy !
As for furniture I have very little to bring as I plan to get some once I move in somewhere, though for communal spaces like a living room would be happy to contribute and help with decision making.
