Abi

Hi I'm Abi, a 29y/o Brit, moved from Melbourne to Perth last year to become what is now affectionally classed as a "mature student". Looking for secure long term accommodation only! Preferably sharing with one or two people at most, and ideally with my own bathroom.

I'm very experienced in house shares (fully house trained), will take the bin out rather than squish it down, and I don't lose all concept of time when having a shower in the morning. I'm definitely not looking for a party house and don't tend to have friends over too often as I prefer to use it as an opportunity to get out and about exploring Perth.

I'm studying Veterinary Nursing in Bentley, and working as a disability support worker in the Hamilton Hill area, but am flexible with location, preferably no further north than Scarborough and no further south than Rockingham. Hopefully it goes without saying that as a vet-nurse-in-training, I am very open to houses with pets and would be more than happy to help out with their care/walks/cuddles/etc.

Something really important to me is feeling like an equal member in a house share, and also feeling that everyone in the house pulls their weight to keep standards high - not just doing the bare minimum but taking initiative to make the home a pleasant and clean place to live. I've lived on my own for a few years on and off, so I know all the work that goes into keeping a house going (i.e. I know there are no magical housework fairies doing the work!)

Other points:
- I am a vegetarian (almost vegan) but not fussy about sharing equipment
- I volunteer with a small animal rescue and would love a place that would let me continue to foster the sweet little bunny rabbit currently under my care (I would give up most of my preferences for this!)
- I have all my furniture already (I currently live in a granny flat) so can supply fridge, washing machine etc if needed
- I often work late/night shifts, meaning I am sometimes coming back from work (or leaving to go to work) around 11pm. I'm very quiet though, and always just go straight to bed!

Likes: nature, dogs, bunnies, travel, volunteering, collecting useless information, watching trash TV after a long day
Dislikes: raisins, slamming doors, writing "about me" sections

I class myself as an extroverted introvert, so I love to chat but have an equal need to recharge by myself at times. As such, I'd love a friendly social home (maybe shared meals/outings every now and then), but also a home where it's not considered rude if I want to hibernate in my room some days

I have all furniture already so looking for an unfurnished room. I currently live in a granny flat so even have things like a big stainless steel fridge, Fisher & Paykel washing machine, 55 inch TV etc to contribute if helpful!

I don't own any pets, although am currently fostering a very sweet rabbit and would love to bring him with me if possible. I currently do a lot of volunteer work for one of Perth's small animal rescues, so would love to be able to continue with fostering bunnies if that was something flatmates might be open to (no pressure obviously!)

Otherwise, very open to places with pets and would gladly be your dog/cat/rabbit/bird sitter whenever you need. Hopefully my vet nursing skills can be useful!
