For me, a good flat mate is someone who values mutual respect, cleanliness, and open communication. I believe it’s important to live with someone who is responsible — especially when it comes to shared duties like paying rent and bills on time and maintaining cleanliness in common areas. I appreciate a flatmate who respects personal space and understands the importance of quiet time, especially during study hours or late at night. At the same time, I enjoy living with someone who is friendly, approachable, and open to occasional conversations or shared meals. Trustworthiness, honesty, and being considerate — like cleaning up after yourself, handling noise carefully, or informing in advance about guests — are all small habits that make a big difference. A calm, cooperative, and drama-free attitude is what I value most, as it helps build a peaceful and positive living environment for everyone.
Food sharing and furniture
I prefer to arrange my own food, as I follow a gym-focused diet that includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. I like to plan my meals based on my fitness goals, so food sharing might not always be practical for me. However, I’m respectful of others’ food preferences and happy to coordinate shared kitchen use. As for furniture, I currently don’t have any living room furniture.
