About this person
I'm a 27-year-old transmasculine person (they/them) moving up to Sydney for postgraduate studies in climate change at UNSW. This is a 2-year full-time course that will mean I'm out of the house most weekdays. Naturally, I'm really interested in the environment and sustainability, with a love of getting outdoors including hiking, kayaking and camping. When I'm not catching up on uni work, I'll either be out in search of good coffee and baked goods, exploring Sydney or visiting friends. I'm also really into trans advocacy and need a household where my identity is respected and I feel safe, especially in the current state of the world. I'm originally from Melbourne, but spent the last 3 years in Newcastle so I'll be taking trips up there pretty frequently or having people visit me occasionally. Before uni, I travelled a lot and worked as a bartender, so I'm always down for a drink (alc or non-alc) or to chat about the world. I'd love to offer my cocktail and coffee-making skills to the household! I'm social and love to make friends, but I do value my quiet time to recharge either watching netflix or playing video games.

Food sharing and furniture
Love to share basics like butter/milk, but I normally meal prep my own food. Happy to share when I have extras, as well as being keen for the occasional group dinner. I do normally eat vego but more for cost-saving and sustainability reasons than anything else, so I am flexible with it. I don't have any communal furniture but I have a drip coffee machine and am planning to buy an air fryer and rice cooker soon. I also have some basic crockery, glassware and utensils. I have my own bedframe and mattress and will be sourcing other room furniture secondhand. A room with in-built storage would be ideal.
