About this person
Hello future flatmate!
I’m Janneke — lovely to meet you. I’ve just finished medical school in New Zealand and I’m moving to Sydney to start my first job with the Northern Hospital Network. It’s an exciting (and slightly nerve-wracking!) new chapter, so I’m hoping to find a flat that really feels like home.
I’ve lived in shared flats for the past eight years and have always loved creating a cosy, welcoming space with the people I live with. I’m clean, considerate, and pretty relaxed. I’m social and love a good hangout, but I’m also respectful of downtime — especially important with hospital shifts!
Outside of work, I have a slightly ridiculous number of hobbies: Latin dance (Salsa & Bachata), yoga (I’m a qualified teacher), sailing, running, surfing, hiking… and anything that gets me outdoors or moving. I’m definitely on the extroverted side, so I enjoy spending time with friends and exploring new places. I’m also a big traveller and tend to spend most of my holidays overseas.
I’m half Dutch, half Kiwi — born in the Netherlands, grew up in Dubai — and my family is happily scattered around the world, with my parents in Saudi Arabia and my brother in Colombia.
What I’m looking for:
A peaceful flat with people who enjoy each other’s company and like doing things together, but also value rest and personal space. Ideally with flatmates who don’t work from home, so I can sleep properly after night shifts.
If you think we’d be a good match, I’d love to chat!
