Description of the home

Our house is a 4br waterfront property, with large entertainment room, gaming area, alfresco area, laundry facilities, cooking utensils, linen, unlimited high speed WiFi, coffee machine, security system, 24hr security CCTV, a treadmill, fishing gear and guests have their own private bar fridge for their use only. We have a spacious queen size lockable bedroom with its own private double ensuite available to a female guest/s only. Our home is located within a short walk to the Port Plaza Shopping Centre, which has a gym, supermarkets, Tony & Marks grocer, fashion, beauty salons, fast food, bakery, cafes, medical centre, & more. Port Adelaide, Ethelton & Port Dock train stations are within walking distance and it is a 16 minute train ride to the city. We also have a bus services to West Lakes shopping center. We have direct access to a riverfront beach, extensive lawned area with a BBQ shelter, however if you prefer we are a 20-25 minute leisurely walk to Semaphore beach and Semaphore road cafes. Our property is often visited by dolphins, and they are often seen from the backyard or the third level.

Rent rate is a single person rate ($500 for two) and is room only including all utilities, WiFi and some cleaning but does not include food. Meal packages can be arranged if preferred and we share meals on occasion. We are flexible, however we normally accept short term homestays (1 week to 4 months) with international or local students, & interns. We have always extended the stay for our preferred guest/s. Rent is paid weekly or fortnightly in advance. We unfortunately cannot accept guests with pets or their own furniture and we are a non-smoking household.

About occupants
We are a family of four, with a 21‑year‑old son in his final year of Construction Management and an 18‑year‑old son in his first year of Biomedical & Health Sciences, both studying at Adelaide University. They are studious, respectful and have their own rooms/bathroom. My wife is a hairdresser, volunteers in the health sector and I have a home based consultancy so we're usually home. We live in a recently renovated 3 storey home overlooking the Port river (estuary), enjoying nature, balancing work whilst trying to stay fit and eating healthy (but with the odd greek dessert). We’ve hosted many wonderful international guests over the years from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and we value those who are clean, polite, and respectful of our home. 🐱 We also have one very clean, timid indoor cat named Cleo (Cleopatra). We enjoy movie nights, having a laugh with a social drink, playing table tennis or 8 ball (but usually only with our guests). Everyone in our household has a Working With Children Check.
