Home Description

Description of the home

Looking for a warm, relaxed place to land in Brisbane? Welcome home! 🏡✨

Instead of squeezing into a tiny apartment, I went the other way and found a beautiful, spacious 3-level home to share.

I've lived in shared homes across Germany, the US, and Australia, and I’ve set this one up for easy, stress-free living: two dishwashers, two washing machines, everyone has their own ensuite bathroom, and we have a cleaner for the common areas (and even your room—just not your creative clutter!).

The bedrooms are peaceful (apart from friendly bird songs), with big sliding doors to the garden, air con, and modern bathrooms. The garden is a work in progress as I plan a lap pool—green thumbs welcomed if you like gardening! 🌿

There’s a big deck off the living area and a huge top-level terrace with amazing views and breezes—plus natural light everywhere thanks to all the glass and the ridge-top position.

The vibe: Quiet and scenic. We’re near Mt Coot-tha’s forest and MTB trails. While there are buses, a car or scooter makes life here much easier. If you love fresh air and peaceful living over city nightlife, this is your spot.

I have two furnished ensuite rooms available. One is becoming available due to a housemate moving to Melbourne, and the other has been used for guests/short-term stays. It’s perfect for someone new to Brisbane looking for a comfy base while settling in.

Happy to do shared grocery runs a few times a week, and I’m also totally fine if you find something else and need to move on short notice—no pressure!

Some areas are still being renovated, but the heart of the home is ready and waiting.
If this sounds like your kind of place, I'd love to hear from you!

Bills and expenses

I like to keep things easy, so all bills are included in the rent! In the unlikely event that a bill spikes dramatically, we can have a chat and work out a fair adjustment. For shared kitchen and cleaning essentials (dishwasher tabs, spices, garbage bags, etc.), we use a casual system—just grab some when you see we are running low to keep things somewhat fair and balanced.

About occupants
Hi, I work at UQ and enjoy cycling—both mountain biking and road riding, which are easily accessible from the area. I'm fairly laid-back, social, and appreciate a relaxed home environment. I've been meaning to get into running as well, so if you're active, that might help me get moving a bit more regularly.

The other long-term housemate is a friendly female UQ PhD student (30s), who is also into outdoor activities (diving, hiking).

We all work full-time and tend to keep fairly early schedules, so evenings are quiet.

It is a smoke-free environment and we only drink occasionally in social settings. The house is best suited to someone who values a calm, respectful living space—so no smoking, drugs, or wild parties. A low-stress, considerate atmosphere is essential, and if it feels like a good fit, I’m open to discussing rent flexibility.

Because we’re all busy, we don’t often plan shared meals, but we’re always happy to catch up if we’re cooking at the same time. The house feels most like a home when housemates make an effort to interact rather than staying completely to themselves, though we value our own downtime too.

There’s a large, shared living area with lovely views toward Mt Coot-tha that works well for socialising.

I’m aiming for a balanced dynamic and would prefer a female housemate to maintain that mix. For me, "mature" is about attitude rather than age—someone respectful, independent, and open to sharing a home in a thoughtful way.
Compatible people
In my experience, a great home dynamic comes down to mindset. I’m looking for someone who:
Treats the house like a home, not a hostel: Someone who cares about the space and settled-in vibe.
Is social and mature: You’re happy to have a casual chat in the kitchen rather than keeping completely to yourself.
Is naturally considerate: Someone who understands that small, thoughtful contributions lead to a happy, relaxed, and low-stress lifestyle for everyone.
