Home Description

Description of the home

The house is in a safe and central location. Although very close to the city, being in a dead-end street, it is surprisingly quiet. It's 10 minutes walk to QUT Kelvin Grove, 5 - 10 minutes walk to bus stops for transport into the city or UQ, it is an easy 30 - 40 minute stroll downhill into the centre of town or around $10 by uber. It's close to supermarkets, markets, cafes and restaurants in Kelvin Grove, Red Hill and Paddington.

This share house has all of the character of a Queensland home. Your room key which will unlock the front door and your room only so you will be the only person who can access your space. The kitchen is fully equipped. The lounge and dining areas are furnished as is your own bedroom. The lounge/kitchen area is airconditioned.

There is an airconditioned, empty room under the house that can be used as a studio if you enjoy doing artwork.

If you have a car, you can arrange a parking permit from the council ($25/yr) to park on the street.

Currently there are two friendly, kind, tidy, young female students living in the house. Looking for someone who will be compatible to share with them.

If you're interested, please ask to see the property and one or both of the current housemates will show you through.

Bills and expenses

All bills are divided equally amongst the 3 tenants. They include: gas, electricity, water and internet.
Bills are roughly $50-$75/month. This quarter was considerably cheaper with the government subsidising electricity bills. These figures are the costs at the higher end, without the subsidy.

About occupants
Phoebe and Gemma are currently sharing the house. Aged between 19 and 25, they are both very friendly, polite and accommodating. They keep the place tidy and are respectful of the house and each other. Both of them study and work.
Compatible people
We are looking for someone who is polite, respectful and considerate of others. Your rent and bills need to be paid regularly and on time. The house should be kept tidy, particularly in the shared areas. You need to be responsible for yourself and your home. Generally, people will have a couple of drinks but this is definitely not a party house. No smokers please. The current tenants are really lovely and sociable. I'm sure they will be very open to making a new friend, but of course everyone's privacy and personal time is respected. We hope you won't mind when we need to come into the house to do maintenance, gardening and cleaning. We will, of course, give you notice.
