Home Description

Description of the home

Peaceful sharehouse in walking distance to the station, bus stop, public hospital, University of SQ and Orion Shopping centre. No need to own a car as you can walk to everything you need.....even doctors, gyms, free swimming pools and a cinema. It's an easy commute into the city, just 40 minutes on the train.

We are ideally located for students of UniSQ as you can walk to the campus from here.

Tranquil location right next to the lakes. Walk or ride a bike around 10 kms of lakeside walking tracks and bushland. Springfield Lakes was designed by an Internationally renowned town planner and we are right in the middle of the facilities but without traffic noise in a quiet cul-de-sac which provides oodles of parking next to open space. Enjoy the fresh air and nature at your doorstep.

Each room is individually air conditioned so you can choose your own temperature. Much better than ducted or air conditioning or when it is only in the living area.

The kitchen is fully equipped with every appliance you might need and stainless steel cookware as well as gas cooking. Each room has their own large fridge in the kitchen, so no need to share with others. Each room also has their own dining table.

There are high quality fittings throughout the house and each bedroom is fully furnished and has hotel quality cotton sheets and towels.

There are planter boxes out the back where you can grow your own vegetables or herbs.

Every detail for comfortable living has been attended to. We only have tenants who are easy to share with and don't make noise or hold parties. We are a Christian sharehouse and prefer tenants who share our faith.

About occupants
We have a mixture of retirees, working singles or couples and students of both genders. We prefer a mixture of genders as this gives the best balance in our living environment and creates interesting discussions.

Three rooms are available for rent and 2 are currently occupied. We accept anyone who is nice to live but prefer people of the Christian faith. All of the rooms have locks on the doors. So you have your own private space that is secure, but can enjoy the company of others when you want to. We enjoy different nationalities and ages. We regularly have students staying with us.

Currently there is a retired male school teacher; myself who is a retired female but travels overseas from time to time doing overseas work with an Indonesian foundation focused on poverty alleviation; and a middle-aged gentleman who loves plants and the garden. His children may visit from time to time on weekends. All of the current occupants are Christian.
Compatible people
We like to have interesting discussions about all sorts if topics. An interest in gardening and good natural health, keeping up to date with the latest health concepts. We enjoy a good balance between times to chat and also respecting personal space. Interaction is an individual choice. We are comfortable with a variety of ages and nationalities. Our faith is a common topic of discussion.
Description of pets
On several occasions I have asked our tenants if they would prefer to have pets or not have pets on the property. Each time the preference has been to not have pets. So the tenants have made that decision. It is not that we don't like animals, in fact, it's the opposite. But we also don't like to make unnecessary work. Some residents prefer not to share the washing machine if pets are kept in rooms. So, there is a general consensus that we would prefer to not have pets inside the house.
