Description of the home

Our timber pole home is private and tranquil, nestled in 2 acres of tropical rainforest. We enjoy plenty of space and wonderful views over Smithfield, Yorkeys and the ocean, which are particularly stunning at sunrise and sunset.

The house was designed by local architect Chris Van Dyke and won home of the year in 1996 and it has a unique tree-house feel about it. We are surrounded by various species of birds and butterflies. It's the perfect space for relaxing, reading or studying.

Shared spaces include a spacious and well-equipped kitchen and the adjoining dining area and living room/lounge, which opens out onto the large balcony. We also have an office space downstairs that will be available for you to use during the day. My husband occasionally uses it in the evenings.

There is a grassy area in the back garden with a Pergola. We do have two rescue dogs, Lola (Dalmatian cross 12 years old) and Apollo (Great Dane, 3 years old). Both are very affectionate and friendly. They have their own space on the ground floor and do not share the main living spaces upstairs on level 1.

We are within walking distance of the JCU campus, a short (5 min) drive from Smithfield Shopping Centre and many cafes / restaurants and within ten minutes of local beaches including Trinity Beach and Yorkeys Knob.

Rooms can come furnished or unfurnished (according to preference).
