Details
This huge 20sqm room has a King size bed not a queen bed, but that's not an option in the flatmatefinder bed size list. The room has both fan and reverse cycle AC, and includes water electricity and 100MBps internet in the price.
The built in wardrobes are about 3meters long and have one section for long hanging space, a section with double rails for lots of short garments lots of draws and heaps of built in draws and shelves as well as a large overhead cupboard for storing suitcases and other less frequently accessed items.
The room has direct access onto a large deck which has some lounges and small table. The deck is shared with one of the other bedrooms. All bedrooms and the shared bathroom are on the second floor, and the bathroom vanity has 3 large draws, so even though the bathroom is shared, you will have your own draw for all your bathroom stuff.

If you need it, I can also provide a desk and chair. The bedroom is easily big enough for a desk as well as a lounge chair and small coffee table.

This room also has a TV antenna socket, and in addition to the house-wide Wifi coverage, has a wired ethernet connection which is great for high speed gaming.

Home Description

Description of the home

This is a full standalone two storey double brick house with high ceilings, separate lounge and dining rooms, kitchen, laundry and walk in pantry, that is 1 block from the broadwater. It has leafy gardens around it and an outside BBQ area as well as balcony with a couple of deck chairs to chill on.

There is off-street parking available. as well as street parking with no time restrictions.

The local pub, the Grand Hotel, is a short 500m walk away, and there's a swimming lagoon close by where the locally famous Charis fish shop also feeds pelicans every day, with a bike and walking track running all along the waterfront that's just 150m away and great to get out on and go for a walk or ride in the morning.
There are lots of cafes and restaurants within 1km walk, as well as Coles and Drake supermarkets about 800m away.
The bus stop is about 200m away with direct busses to Harbour town outlet shopping center and Southport, which are the two main local interchanges for busses elsewhere.

The house also has an extension area that was built in the early 70's shortly after my family bought it that contains a second downstairs bathroom (that still needs renovating), bar and office space and storage area that I will be keeping separated off for my own use when I am around. I wont be using the upstairs bathroom, which will be for exclusive use of the bedrooms upstairs. I am planning to have a housekeeper once a week to surface clean in the common areas, and I have a gardener to maintain the gardens.

Bills and expenses

Water electricity and 100Mbps+ unlimited internet are all included in the fixed price, under the fair usage guidelines for unmetered utilities.

Sorry, electric car charging is not included but I am happy to have a conversation about how to do that - I might need to get an external charger installed and change to a more suitable electricity plan if you need this.
I will also happily upgrade the internet connection to a higher speed one if everyone feels like they really need it.

I have a gardener who will maintain the external gardens and have a cleaner once every couple of weeks to surface clean the common areas.

About occupants
Hi, I'm Vivian. I don't actually live in the house full time - or stay in it overnight. I only use a downstairs extension on the original 2 storey house as an office during the day, to give my wife some space when she is working from home - we live up the road in a small apartment on the water - this is the house I grew up in as a kid and that my family has owned since the early 70s. I have a deep connection with it, with responsibility for looking after it falling to me after a recent family loss, and have just finished giving it a full roof replacement and upstairs bathroom renovation, as well as a few other changes.

I am a software developer with a BSc from Griffith Uni who has worked around the world in Japan, UK, and more recently, in the Gulf countries. I have worked in various industries from investment banking to robotics in structural steel fabrication and oncological 3d medical imaging, and I travel quite a bit, so I am generally only around every other month. I usually spend my free time either writing or playing games, when I am not hanging out with friends or busy doing renovations, which I am pretty hands on with.
I'm not much of a gardener - got a black thumb I think - but I think I would like to get a vege patch or herb garden going once I get the garden sorted out a bit more.

The residents you will be mostly living with are currently two 40+ guys in the other two rooms, both chill, tidy and easy to get along with. RTA rules prevent me saying anything significant about the residents but they will be happy to tell you themselves.
Compatible people
Someone who is tidy and can keep on top of their stuff, a little sociable but who is happy to chill without necessarily needing a lot of constant attention would be nice.

People who are able to agree to disagree instead of having long drawn out fights are definitely proffered, and respectful of each other as well as the common space.

Sorry the non smoking thing is not negotiable.
Description of pets
I had a cat. Sadly, no more
