• 400m / 5 minute walk to North Richmond train station;
• 400m / 5 minute walk to the Victoria St tram;
• 500m / 6 minute walk to Collingwood train station.

NEARBY FOOD & RECREATION:
• 1km / 15 minute walk to Collingwood/Fitzroy area. There are too many to name, but some of our favourites are Hotel Jesus (mexican), Aka Siro (Japanese pub style), Le Bon Ton, The Everleigh (an all-round first class bar) and LaserPig Pizza Parlour.
• 800m / 10 minute walk to Johnson St, Abbotsford. Our fav’s are Rita’s Cafeteria, Dr Morse and LuLie St Tavern.
• 400m / 5 minute walk to Victoria and Nicholson Streets, Abbotsford/Richmond. Our fav’s here are Au79 café, Mavis the Grocer, Three Bags Full and Jinda Thai.

We’re NOT:
• a touchy feely, excessive PDA type couple;
• ever going to disturb you with sex sounds;
• massive hogs of the common areas;
• afraid of open and honest conversation;
• looking for a new best friend/s but would also be equally happy if that were the case.

We ARE:
• both lawyers - meaning that we are fair minded, appreciate honesty and are not easily offended;
• quite often separate and doing our own things in the house (i.e. Mark is on his computer in the study upstairs and I'm in the bedroom downstairs reading, cleaning or playing on my computer);
• a bit left of centre;
• clean and tidy;
• both active in the kitchen and happy to share any tasty creations with you; and
• fond of a few drinks every now and then (particularly Mark on a Sunday).

You must:
• at least be ok with/tolerate cats;
• be trustworthy;
• be clean and tidy;
• not be loud after around 10pm (at least on ‘school nights’); and
• pay your bills on time.

If you have a car, it would be a bonus if you drive manual. Reason being you can move our car if yours is at the back and you need to get out. Ideally, we would do the same with your car if ours was at the back.

Bills and expenses

Super fast Telstra cable internet (faster than NBN), gas and electricity bills are extra. We are also interested in getting a cleaner and would expect the roommate to pay 1/3.

About the occupants
Em, almost 33, lawyer. I'm originally from Brisbane but moved here for work in March 2013.

I'm busy during business hours and sometimes after work. Like to stay home at least one day and night on the weekend.

I have two beautiful cats who are like children to me. For this reason, it's very important that you are not mean to them and don't mind living with cats.

I'm a clean, tidy and generally organised person. I expect that you will be clean and tidy too (or at least 80% of the time).

I am always respectful of others and try to be quiet but I do feel like a bit of an elephant around the house sometimes (i.e. when cooking or getting ready for work in the mornings). You will find me most often in the garden, playing with my computer in our room or in the kitchen cooking.

I'm a bit of an odd ball, but harmless. I think I'm fairly open minded, friendly and am generally a kind and caring person. The non-negtioables for me are liking or at least tolerating the cats, maintaining a reasonable level of order and cleanliness and paying your bills in full and on time.

I've lived with 3 gay men and 1 straight female throughout my years and have found the gay men to be absolutely wonderful to live with and I would definitely do it again.

People with big personalities are welcome.

Mark - Loves a beer, politics, lawyering and a yarn. Born and bred in Melbourne (i.e. the quintessential Victorian).
Compatible people
I would prefer someone who genuinely loves and has experience with pets but has not got one themselves due to their living situation/lifestyle. Someone who is clean, neat and tidy. Someone who is respectful of others, generally quiet and responsible with paying bills and rent in full and on time. Someone who shows commonsense and takes initiative around the home (i.e. if a light bulb is blown, replace it) would be wonderful.

We’re looking for someone who:
• loves or at the very least, tolerates cats;
• is trustworthy;
• clean & tidy;
• quiet (at least on ‘school nights’); and
• pays their bills on time.

We don't mind partners, friends or family staying over, so long as they are also ok with cats, trustworthy, respectful, clean and quiet.
Description of pets
I have two cats. 1 x black & white male domestic short hair named Patches and 1 x female domestic tabby and bi-colour cross long hair named Isabella. I was formerly a volunteer foster carer. These two were never adopted so I took them on permanently. They are both 8 years old now.

Patches is quite needy and talkative. He sticks to me like glue when I'm home, but will likely talk to and follow you around after he has gotten to know you when I'm not there. He has a touch of cat anxiety and he has always been that way. Isabella is more chilled out. She will follow me around too, but not as much. She is easy to handle, very sweet and beautiful.

Isabella only has 30% kidney function and Patches is a rather rubenesque. As a result, both cats are fed unique prescription diets. Absolutely NOTHING aside from their prescription food is EVER to be fed to them.

If stressed, cats are known to be funny with their litter trays. That is one reason why it's important not to be mean to them as behavioural issues can result. Their litter trays are kept downstairs in our ensuite bathroom out of your way.

They spend most of their time in our room, in the courtyard that comes off it and in the middle level on the couch or their chairs. They very rarely if ever go to the top floor and when they do, its usually because I've gone up there to water plants or change sheets in the guest room etc.
