I own a freshly modern renovated 4 bedroom/2 bathroom weatherboard house in a quiet street in Altona.


I am looking to rent a one bedroom semi detached apartment at the rear of the house, with its own bathroom, toilet and kitchenette/laundry

Plenty of room for a large bed and lounge setting etc...and it has its own tv aerial connection
There is an evaporative cooling system which keeps the house cool in the hotter months.
The bedroom has its own energy efficient gas heater , low wattage downlights provide bright lighting,
Superfast direct cable unlimited broadband internet is available at a very cheap rate
The house has a 5kw solar roof panel system , keeping electricity bills low
The bedroom can come completely unfurnished or there are the following items available if needed
Fridge, microwave, bookshelf, large lounge with fold out bed, kettle,toaster and other household items
Washing machine is shared...
Kitchenette comes with a portable dual electric hot plate unit...but no oven
The tenant/s are very welcome to use the gas/electric oven in the main house kitchen if needed
The bedroom has a sliding door which opens onto a spacious undercover 8.5 m long by 4.3 m wide shared outdoor wooden deck
The rear house door via the deck leads into the apartment , there is access via the driveway or on the other side by path entrance
Tenants are more than welcome to use the front door of the house for access if they like
There is a very private backyard with clothes line that is a shared space

Excellent access to public transport...
600m to Westona station (Werribee line)
300m to bus route 415 (Laverton station to Williamstown)
1.4 km's to bus route 411/412 (Laverton station to Footscray)
1.8 k'm's to altona beach ( 3 minute drive)
Supermarket and Harrington square shops are right near Westona station
Pier st Altona shops and most facilities are 2.2 kms away...(4 min drive)

Bills and expenses

for a single person
power : 1/3 of total power bill ( 5kw solar panel system keeps power bills low)
gas : 1/2 of total gas bill (as the house has 2 gas heaters in total , and a shared gas hot water system)
internet : superfast unlimited direct cable broadband ($20/month)
water: 1/3 of water usage only
the main house has foxtel , which can be shared but isn't set up for that at the moment , but can be negotiated
Off street parking is available at the front of the house for one vehicle

For a couple:
power : 40% of total power bill ( 5kw solar panel system keeps power bills low)
gas : half of total gas bill
internet : super fast unlimited direct cable broadband internet ( $30/month)
water : 40 % of total water usage only
foxtel : the main house has foxtel, but it isn't set up in the apartment at the moment , but can be negotiated
parking : off street parking is available for one vehicle

Either of these scenarios is open to negotiation , but this is a fair and reasonable bill split
