Home Description
Description of the home
We are located super close to Coburg station (7min walk) and Moreland Station (15min walk) as well as the bike trail, Sydney Rd, the #19 tram and big supermarkets as well as Coburg market and the best falafels in the north! It’s a very peaceful, quiet street with a little park nearby and a nice neighborhood vibe.
The house itself is very lovely and welcoming! It’s an older gem but with the insides done up to be more functional but still having the beautiful stained glass and fireplaces!
There is a big backyard with a workshop and a shed for storage and plenty of room for sunny day activities and just feeling like we have a grassy space away from the busy world that’s peaceful and restorative.
The kitchen is very much the heart of the home but the whole space in general has a very welcoming energy (we felt it from day one of moving in and it’s only gotten better!), we’ve filled it with plants and artwork and lots of cute memories but it’s got potential for so much more.
There are two whippets that live here too and they are sweet older doggies who love their people and alllll the cuddles.
Unfortunately the younger one is a reactive to other furry friends so we can’t have any additional pets.
As for the humans we are two very good friends who work from home 3 days a week (both have office spaces in our rooms). We love the homely vibe we have going and we are both village minded and love having people into our space to share the love, food and what not. We love having dinners and unplanned late night existential deep chats at the kitchen bench, starting random rituals together and dreaming big on creative projects and then doing spicy brain distractions and moving on to something else!
While we love coming together as a household we also do well on our own and taking our own space. We’re not big loud party people (or if we are every now and then we head out to do it and save the home for more peaceful and relaxed things). We’d love someone that is keen to hang out and have a bit of a bond grow if the personalities are right, being comfortable in the home is a priority we always want for anyone we have over, as well as ourselves so we aren’t looking for someone that is a stranger, we want to open our doors to a cute fun little opportunity to grow a housematey friendship (but also retreat and recuperate and enjoy our own spaces!). Queer and spicy brains, animal lovers, creative minds, positive silly billies that love deep talk and being real!

Em in a nutshell: I am a late recruit to the adhd club, queer, vegan, creative, silly billy, nature loving thing and food is my love language! I love a good party every now and then as much as I love going out into the bush and hiking around. Home is always my sanctuary and the kitchen is the heart and it’s super important to us that people feel welcome and comfy when they step inside. I work full time for an online uni and when I’m not there I’m out and about doing some socials, cycling, being in the sun, movies, shows, in nature or I’m home doing the cosy grounding things like hanging with John and snoots, cooking, reading and all that!
John in a walnut shell: lover of food, fitness and deep talks. Verified yapper (so my partner says, who’s currently overseas for work). I also love to listen (doing a Diploma in Counselling); holding a safe space is our primary goal (Emma and I) with every human we speak with. I love a good boogie and attend music events here and there. I’m 2 days in the office, and the rest at home. Our kitchen is the warmest place in the home, filled with conversations, good food, and wafting aromas of wholesome cooking. If you’re ok with regular check-ins, story telling, and company, you’ll be right at home as Emma and I will spontaneously go for runs, meditate, coffee runs, plugging something into our calendar, etc.
We have another person moving out at the moment and we’re looking to fill the room with someone who shares similar values, we don’t want someone to remain a stranger, we want someone that loves this space as much as we do and that we feel comfortable with and can rope into our silly little fun or our random round the kitchen bench deep and existential chats and everything in between!
