Home Description

Description of the home

One large bedroom is available in this fantastic 3bdrm Elwood apartment, from July 10th 2024 ongoing. (To share the apartment with just myself)

The communal space - HUGE lounge + dining area and spacious kitchen, TWO bathrooms (including shower, toilet & 1 x tub), laundry & balcony. St Kilda Botanical Gardens is across the road for picnics and lazy hangs. Situated far enough from the crowds of St.Kilda but not too far for a great coffee or brunch.

Featuring: Large refrigerator, gas stove, electric oven, plenty of breeze flowing through the place, huge dining table, WiFi, espresso machine and hifi with bluetooth connectivity.

Bedroom neatly fits a Queen Size bed, full length mirror, desk / WFH station and drawers (photos show QS bed, sideboard and one set of drawers- you can also BYO furniture if preferred), with plenty of built-in wardrobe space and leafy green view over the Botanical Gardens. Floor is parquetry in this bedroom and there is also split system A/C and heating.

Please note- There's a security entrance at ground level and the apartment is up one flight of stairs (no elevator).

The household is sustainable where possible, recycling, collecting compost and energy efficient; I love entertaining at home, music, art, cooking, sharing meals, living with plants and gardening, fitness, and heading away for outdoor adventures.
Most suitable for someone who can treat our home as a sanctuary; who does not work from home all the time, can engage somewhat in the household (ie not hide in their room all the time), enjoy hosting friends and family at times, share cleaning responsibilities without being prompted and contribute their own energy and vibe to improve the place overall.

LOCATION
A 5min lush and green walk through the gardens to St.Kilda/Acland Street village, 10min walk to Elwood beach, 6min walk to Carlisle St shops.
Very close to #67 tram, also nearby is #246 bus, #96+#16 tram and Sandringham line train (Balaclava or Ripponlea).

PRICES
$467 per week (single) / $627 per week (couple), paid in advance monthly, excludes utilities (gas quarterly, electricity monthly and internet monthly)
BOND = one month rent . Bond + first month's rent payment is required to confirm the room.
Please message directly for more info, to introduce yourself and arrange a tour. Thanks!

About the occupants
Hi, I'm Timothy (he/him), a healthcare professional. I sometimes work from home and sometimes in-clinic. Deeply into music, art, food (omniverous), fitness, living with plants and gardening, heading away camping, festivals. I love cooking for friends, heading out for gigs or a hike; also enjoy quiet time with the amazing sounds of nature from the park across the road.
Compatible people
All LGBTQIA+ and allied humans welcome 🏳‍🌈 . Where possible, please provide evidence of employment or income & rental references. I am primarily looking for a medium to long-term housemate but am open to short term stays also. Suit those that are respectful of space, honest, open minded, are ok with music in the house often, can maintain cleanliness of communal areas, are social within the household but also with their own network of friends. I eat/cook all foods including meat but welcome and respect vegetarian and vegan folk also. Unfortunately no pets are allowed.
