Home Description
Description of the home
I have a cozy old home that has been well loved by my family since it was built in 1956. The family have all grown up and now it’s just me - the youngest sister at 60. I live mostly in my studio attached to the house unless I have a visitor coming for a few hours during the day, that’s when I’ll be using the kitchen and the lounge room.
You will have your own room, a queen size bed, as much linen as you’d like, an older style headboard with inbuilt lights perfect for reading. Heavy drapes that block out the light. You will have your own bathroom and toilet. The kitchen has a new upside-down fridge, a dishwasher, microwave, air fryer and coffee machine (no push buttons or pods - you have to get your hands dirty!). I have a Nutribullet and Mixmaster (for the bakers). The oven is relatively new and works well. The lounge has a comfy leather sofa and a toastie warm gas heater which I sit by with my friends. The washing machine and dryer are in an old, but functional laundry. We do have a full size Hills Hoist to hang clothes outside to dry. The front patio is a private place to relax and read - apologies when the neighbours think the same thing, they can be a bit noisy.
Location: Bus at either end of the street, a convenience store nearby, Craigieburn and Upfield train lines are both nearby, as are Coles and Woolworths. Also nearby - an oval, gym equipment, picnic tables / bbq, netball and basketball courts, a golf course and skate park.
The rear yard is huge with lots of open space.
The Lady of the House is my cherished 14-year-old pushy princess named “Mumma”, she is a very chatty and cuddly cat and to date has had the run of the house. If you like cats it would be awesome, it will give me a chance to visit family overnight. Parking is all off street. A gardener comes regularly and the cleaner comes every week. Tullamarine Airport is 15 mins away and I’m happy to drop off/pick up.
Unless it’s to make something to eat for Mumma and I or to grab a cuppa, you basically won’t see a lot of me most evenings, you’ll have the house to yourself. Unfortunately technology is dated. I’m yet to activate an NBN account. Some Optus users may find the signal unreliable or slow.
Ok, Me? I’m a Mental Health Support Worker who does DoorDash on the side for a bit of fun.
Ok so, basically, I’m trialling this idea for a 3 to 4 month period, then my brother and sister come to Melbourne to stay.
