Home Description

Description of the home

Hi, I’m Marcus – a friendly and easygoing gay man living in a modern two-storey townhouse in beautiful Maribyrnong, just outside Melbourne’s CBD. I work as a remedial massage therapist from home and in a few local clinics, and I also run a couple of small businesses, which keeps me busy and engaged. When I’m not working, I love catching up with friends, enjoying Melbourne’s great food and culture, or getting outside to explore the local area.

I enjoy opening my home to respectful and independent guests who are keen to experience real Australian life. The location is hard to beat – public transport is just 20 metres from the front door, making it easy to get around. We’re also just minutes away from major shopping centres, a pool and gym, and the iconic Maribyrnong River – perfect for walks, runs, or cycling along the trails.

Inside the home, you’ll find a peaceful space to relax, study, or unwind. I share the house with a beautiful collection of tropical fish – their calm, colourful world is better than TV (although multiple streaming services are available too, if you prefer).

If you're looking for a comfortable and well-connected place to stay while enjoying the best of Melbourne, I’d love to welcome you.

About occupants
Hi, I’m Marcus – a 48-year-old small business owner juggling two ventures and a background as a chef, author, and carer for my mother. These days, a lot of my time is spent on admin, marketing, and bookkeeping, but I still make time for the things I enjoy – good company, meaningful conversations, and the occasional shared meal or glass of wine.

I’m friendly, generous with my time, and always happy to share my home with someone who’s independent, respectful, and enjoys a relaxed and social living environment. Ideally, I’m looking for a housemate who is employed or otherwise self-sufficient, and who enjoys connecting, not just disappearing into their room all day.

I believe a home should feel welcoming – not just a place to sleep. All bills are included, including gas, electricity, water, internet, and access to multiple streaming services. If you’re looking for a warm, well-located space with great company, we might be a great fit.
Compatible people
I’m looking for someone who is friendly, sociable, and communicates well. Ideally, you’ll be the kind of person who contributes to keeping shared spaces clean and enjoys the occasional chat or shared meal – someone who sees this as a home, not just a room to retreat to.

While I’m pretty flexible and easygoing, mutual respect and a sense of balance in shared living are important to me. I’d love to live with someone who’s more like a friend than just a flatmate.

One non-negotiable: this is a drug-free home. I run a professional practice from home, and maintaining a safe, respectful, and responsible environment is essential.
Description of pets
No pets, other than my fish.
