I live in Prahran
I work in Finance (Team Manager)
I have a sausage dog named Arnold
I am gay and recently single after an 11 year relationship breakdown (never again)
I go to the gym 8 times a week
I drink alcohol (mainly prosecco and vodka)
I like to socialise with friends and go to nice restaurants
I wouldn't really say I'm a hobbies guy but I am starting to explore this space given my newly single life
Whilst I am 38 I do not act 38 nor do I feel 38. My friends are all 30-32 as well and keep me from acting my age anyway haha
Fun fact - I have had a hair transplant!
It’s a big house for one person, and honestly, having some company would be nice. I’m also pretty flexible on how long someone stays — it could be short-term, long-term, or somewhere in between. If we try it and it works, great!
That said, I’m going to be pretty upfront about what I’m looking for because I’d rather be honest from the start and not waste anyone’s time:
* I don’t want to be someone’s mother. I’m not interested in reminding someone to clean, tidy up or generally look after themselves.
* You need to be clean and tidy. I have a nice home and I like it to look and feel that way. I’m not expecting perfection, but I do expect someone who cleans up after themselves.
* Weekly cleaning is a must. I’m not looking to live with someone who is generally unhygienic or thinks cleaning is optional.
* Put things back where you found them. I don’t want dishes permanently living in the sink, clothes and belongings scattered around communal areas, or things just being left wherever they were last used.
* You need to like dogs — or at least be willing to embrace mine. My dog is obviously part of the package, so being comfortable living with him is important.
* I’d actually like to be friends with my housemate. I’m not looking for someone who comes home, disappears into their bedroom and barely interacts. I’m not expecting us to spend every night together, but I’d like someone who is up for a chat, a drink, dinner, watching something together etc. from time to time.
* We’ll need to work out the WFH situation. I don’t currently have a permanent home-office setup, although I’m hoping to build one into the house once I’ve recovered financially from, well… owning a giant house 😂. For now, we’d just need to work out a temporary arrangement that suits both of us. I WFH Thursday and Friday and am in the office Monday–Wednesday.
Basically, I’m not looking for a perfect person — just someone who is independent, clean, considerate, sociable and generally capable of functioning like an adult 😂
I promise I’m not a psychopath. I just know what works for me, and I’d rather be upfront about it from the beginning than end up with two people discovering six months later that we have completely different ideas of what “clean and tidy” means.
I have had him since he was a puppy
Arnold is essentially Satan reincarnated and goes out of his way to just make my life hell from time to time. I love him to death and 90% of the time he is an angel, he just has this demonic side that has to come out from time to time.
Where do I start.
He will get into anything so you can't leave things around (especially food and lollies) as I have done too many trips to the vet to have his stomach pumped from previous housemates who did not care. I am not joking he will get on furniture you dont think he could get on, he can unzip bags you thought would be dog proof, if he wants it he will get it.
He has separation anxiety so there is certain things you need to do to "dog proof" the house before you leave
He will pee or poo on the floor from time to time - he has a doggy door he just likes to be precious when it rains and again make my life hell. Most times this is on the pee mats but sometimes he does miss so you can't be afraid to help clean it up if you get home first (obviously my job in the main but if it's there and I'm not home I don't want to live with someone that's just going to ignore it!
He lives with me during the week and every second weekend (the other weekend he goes to my ex's house). He also spends Tuesdays at my friends house.
I WFH Thursday and Friday only, meaning he is home alone on Mon and Wed.
