Home Description

Description of the home

New build, only about 6 months old, so everything's still fresh. It's a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with an open-plan living and dining area, air conditioning and heating, a kitchen with dishwasher, and a small backyard with a grassed area that's great for sitting out or entertaining. There's off-street parking, and NBN fibre internet (500/200) is connected and included in the rent along with the other bills.

The room available is a generous 3.5m x 3.0m (second bedroom on the left in the floor plan) with built-in robes, and you'd have effective exclusive use of the second bathroom, which also has a separate bath (which I use on occasion).

Located on a quiet, friendly street in Thomastown, close to a well-regarded local school, it's a 10 minute walk to Thomastown Station with a 35 minute direct train to Flinders Street on the Mernda line, also connecting through to Richmond and Collingwood. Close to the Metropolitan Ring Road too, with even better connectivity once the North East Link is finished. That's Amore cheesery (cafe and shop) is a short walk away, Lalor shops are walkable, and Epping covers all your shopping needs if you've got a car. Honestly this part of Thomo is such a sleeper, its such a good area.

About occupants
'm a photographer by trade, currently moving into video and motion design work, so you'll often catch me editing on the computer. Outside of that I'm a keen amateur woodworker with my own hobby shop set up, plus the occasional game of Magic: The Gathering and a soft spot for poker. The household is really just me and my greyhound Max, who splits his time between two homes under shared custody but is very much family when he's here. I've been here for about 6 months, I'm house-proud without being precious about it, and I like having someone around to share a coffee or a couch hang with, while still giving each other plenty of space.
Compatible people
Looking for someone in their late 20s to early 40s, ideally a working professional, who actually wants to live in a shared house rather than just sleep in one. I'm social but my big-night-out days are behind me, so think the occasional dinner or a couch hang rather than parties, with plenty of respect for each other's space too. You'll need to genuinely love dogs. My greyhound Max splits his time between two homes but is very much part of the household when he's here, with full run of the common areas. Tidy and considerate of shared spaces (without being precious about it), no drugs, happy to have the occasional drink, and any smoking kept outside. Couples welcome if the vibe's right.
Description of pets
I have a greyhound named Max, who I share custody of with a friend, so he's part-time here rather than full-time. When he is around, he's very much part of the household with full access to the common areas. True to the breed, he's gentle and low-energy, more of a couch potato than a handful, and he's friendly and well-socialised around people. He will be your best friend if you let him, anyone that meets him instantly falls in love. A genuine love of dogs is essential for anyone moving in, since he's not going anywhere.
