Home Description
Description of the home
The Essentials;
A medium sized, high ceiling room with nook for bed (or desk) and plenty of space for more. Located in Thornbury, in-between Normanby Ave & Shaftesbury Pde.
Public transport is a dream with the 86 tram a hop skip and a jump away, the #11 tram and Croxton train station both less than 10 minutes walk.
An Oasis amongst the action, the flat is more like a semi-detatched house, converted from the entire rear and upstairs section of the property. A quaint 3 bedroom house right on High street, though surprisingly quiet. Light and spacious with a retro 70’s kitchen and cute courtyard, it is accessed away from the main road through the lane behind High Street and has its own car-port (used as an outdoor covered area), vegie patches, and social outdoor area. The kitchen and living rooms are both downstairs.
Upstairs there is a long corridoor in which the 3 bedrooms, the bathroom, and the sun-room are located. The property really is quite large and detatched from High Street despite being literally right on its doorstep, and the sounds from the main road and the public transit near by are audible, but muted, because of this.
The house is quite a find and has one of the best locations in the north, being only a hop, a skip, or a jump away from any number of modes of transport, shops, or entertainment, and has the space to entertain friends both indoor and out while maintaining separation and privacy for the residents. And Melbourne's best Greek (Psarakos) and Whole-Foods (Terra Madre, Naturally on High) stores are at your fingertips.
There is streetside parking 150m or so away, by the railway line, or on Normanby Avenue, so that is where we have parked cars previously.
