Description of the home
Hi. We are Marta and Brian and our spacious, light-filled double bedroom in Thornbury is available for a 6-month sublet while we travel to Europe.
The room is fully furnished and has a double built-in-robe, with extra storage space available in other parts of the house if needed.
It’s a very sunny and bright room, with a big set of sliding doors that open onto the massive back balcony of the house, where you can enjoy views of the Melbourne skyline and the Dandenongs.
There’s a standing desk if working from home is your thing and another desk that you can use in the upper lounge room, which is right next to the bedroom. The room also comes with a very good electric heater which has been keeping us cosy during the winter months.
The house is located on a quiet street in the Preston end of Thornbury, a 15-minute walk from High Street - there are lots of great cafes and bars nearby, as well as the 86 tram. Train line is another five minutes from High St.

Bills are v low as there are six people in total living in the house, so internet works out at $15 each a month, gas + electricity around $50.

Jasmine (31) is studying Digital Media at RMIT but has taken a year off to focus on DJing and other creative hobbies. Works casually for an online warehouse. Enjoys her alone time but is also social. You will often find her in the dining room working on something music-related or hear her hysterically laughing at nothing.
Oskar (31) is from Melbourne and works in video game development. He spends his free time learning languages, playing video games (of course) and likes going out for a drink and a dance.
Dion (25) is a big nature nerd working full-time in conservation. He’s all about anything plants and animals and loves music and playing chess or pool. He also loves good food, of which there is no shortage in this house. Proud owner of a big sooky 5 y/o Labrador/ Boxer who goes by Lexi. She provides us all with plenty of unconditional love!

We have a communal and caring home, and we’re looking for new housemates who are keen for the same. Everyone in the house likes to socialise but we also respect the need for downtime/time.
We like house dinners, movie nights, dinner parties, occasional nights out and the odd house party. We’re house-proud and like the place to be kept clean and tidy without the need for a rota. We try to live as sustainably as we can and we’re always keen to learn and improve in this department.
