Other information
This room has a completely private view out to the backyard and afternoon sun. There is a Queen bed and mattress as well as dresser and side table with lamp. Let me know if you don't want the furniture and I can remove it. You are welcome to use the other rooms and areas in the house. There is a bathroom with a bath and shower and a separate toilet near your room so very handy. The room is facing a very quiet back yard, the mattress is the best quality. I recently put a dresser in the wardrobe which you may or may not want there. I thought it would add somewhere to store clothes in drawers. If you would rather have the space for hanging clothes I can move it out. Your room is your sanctuary. If you don't like the artwork in the room I can move it out.

Home Description

Description of the home

Facing north on Mount Gibraltar the house is filled with light in the early morning and late afternoon. The view is across to other mountains, it is very quiet here, it's possible to just relax and sleep well at night. There is a spacious feeling to the house and gas cooking stove and oven as well as a gas heater in the lounge room. The neighbours are friendly but everyone leaves each other alone to their own space except to catch up for a friendly neighbourhood chat when passing. I enjoy the walks up and around the mountain here very much as the views are majestic and the wildlife abundant. The great thing about this house is that it's modern and although the rent is $600 a week (so we divide that up), the building is secure and safe - it doesn't matter how much rain or flooding happens in the neighbourhood, this house is rain and flood proof- and windproof so that is peace of mind. The trees around here and in Gibraltar National Park are tall and very old - some of them would be 400 years old in the forest but breathtakingly beautiful. The aspect of the house is wonderful which is why I decided to live here even though it's pricey- it's worth it!

About occupants
Hi, I'm a Visual Arts Teacher and artist I'm a person who tries to keep as active as possible and enjoy life. I need some downtime when I'm at home due to the intensity of my work. I enjoy bushwalking, cycling, walking around the mountain where I live, the tall trees here the wildlife, good food, creating artwork, seeing films and plays, art auctions, garage sales. Right now I'm into cleaning out and tidying up as much as possible to keep the environment a welcoming uncluttered place so no more garage sales for me although I may hold one one of these days. Love art and the sun coming down through the shutters in winter.
Compatible people
Someone who is honest and reliable is the main thing. Someone who cleans as she/he goes and doesn't leave her / his room a mess or the bathroom- an equal share of cleaning around the place would be a bonus. An understanding that after a day's work I might be tired and need a quiet time out, someone who is independent and doesn't spend too much time watching tv, who has a life outside the house, it's not a party house but a refuge. A reliable person who can pay the rent automatically every 2 weeks in advance. Someone who is interesting and has an interesting life. I don't mind if you want to spend most of your time in your room or in other parts of the house as you wish. A happy person who doesn't need to burden me with the details of their problems but I'm happy to have a chat as flatmates do! Someone who appreciates nature. Respecting each others space and privacy is important. Your friends and family are welcome to the house as long as it's not overwhelming, as it's good to socialise but during the week the emphasis is on getting to work on time and back in time for a walk around the mountain and then the house is a bit of a sanctuary, and a nice place to be.
