Home Description
Description of the home
A lush, peaceful street in SE Buderim. Close to supermarket, restaurants, other shops, bus stop, etc. Beach and most services/shopping centres, etc. within 10-15 minute drive away. Close to Sunshine Coast University and about 20 minutes from the public University Hospital (SCUH). UniSC is 5.4km away.
One of our main priorities is that our housemate loves and understands cats as we have two, much loved, ageing Burmese cats with ongoing health complications.
Definitely no tobacco/cigarette smokers please.

We aim for a happy house and are generally social between the two extremes, i.e., with occasional bursts of social excitement followed by periods of down time. We are the home owners.
Reto is originally from Switzerland and works as a clinical nurse (day shift only) at SCUH. He has always been a long distance runner but the last few years has been slightly obsessed with backyard ultramarathons.
Beck is continuing to rebuild her strength and fitness, which she uses to help manage chronic disease, and she is aiming to get back into surfing and other active hobbies. She does volunteer work from time to time.
We both love live music, sports, the arts, travel, and spending time with friends with a variety of personalities/interests. We like to be informed about both domestic and international current affairs. We enjoy having in-depth conversations about pretty much anything. We both love the outdoors. We are largely healthy eaters (Reto still has a penchant for quality pastries).
We have an appreciation for discovering new places and cultures, in both Australia and other countries. We're young at heart and a bit cheeky, often mistaken for being ten years younger than our chronological age.
We wish to only have a housemate who works full-time (preferably standard Mon-Fri working hours). (Masters/PhD students are welcome to apply if they are full-time on-site at UniSC).
We like housemates who clean up after themselves to a similar standard to us (keeping in mind that we also have our moments when we are too tired or busy). We like to keep our home reasonably healthy (mould/dust prevention), inviting, and with a reasonably low toxin load. Respect for our belongings is a big plus. We share some common spaces and so we are looking for someone who will be equally accountable for regular maintenance/cleaning these shared spaces, as well as their private space.
We also prefer someone who is environmentally conscious and has progressive values.
We have two Burmese cats - both females, 16 years old. They are very much a part of the family.
They thrive with human contact and a low stress environment. Sometimes they like each other and snuggle together, other times they need kind and gentle human intervention to help them get along.
Both are experiencing health issues as they age so we need to reiterate again that someone who loves and understands cats is a top priority.
