Home Description

Description of the home

I have a master bedroom available from mid April in this neat little two-bed house in Alexandria. My housemate is moving out then so very keen to get someone in for Thu 16th. My preference would be someone easy-going, balancing doing our own thing and hanging out in a 'come and go as we like' kind of way.

Room on offer is the master bedroom with its own balcony and TONNES of storage above in the attic. Easily fits a queen bed. Potentially space for a desk in the room along with the bed.

The house is kitted out pretty well so you won't need to bring heaps of appliances, just your own kitchenware and bed basically but happy to share pans etc. I have a fridge, washing machine, drier, microwave, sofa, coffee table and huge tv. I'm working on cleaning things up a bit to take some up to date 'lived-in' photos so happy to message with those soon if you're interested.

This house would really suit anyone with a dog, especially given how hard it is I've heard to find a pet friendly rental. Current tenancy permissions only allow one dog though. The private backyard is also a big win here along with Alexandria Park being just down the street and Sydney Park only a short walk away. With previous housemates, I've had an English staffy, a border collie and a husky cross live here who have all absolutely adored having the space out in the backyard and in the parks. I'd be very keen to have another furry running around! Do note that there are dogs either side of the backyard fences if that's an issue.

There's also a roll-up door at the back of the yard for parking too if you have a car. On-street parking is available too out the front if preferred (it is a little easier but needs a permit and space can be tough at certain times).

Perks of the location:
- Less than 10 mins walk from the Waterloo Metro and Redfern train station.
- Plenty of regular bus stops nearby, e.g., 370, 392, 306, 309.
- Two really nice parks within a 2 min walk (South Eveleigh and Alexandria Park).
- Sydney Park is also super close, less than 10 min cycle but also within walking distance.
- Brewdog brewery close to Redfern station is just 5 mins walk.
- Heaps of pubs and cafes super close within a few minutes walk.
- Woolies metro, Dan Murphy and IGA just down the road (5 min walk).

Move-in date: Thu 16th April. This is just after my current housemate moves out so closer to that date the better so I can avoid paying the entire rent myself. Bond is $1,940.

About occupants
Hey there, I'm Alex (29M) and basically for 'work', I study dingoes! Their behaviour, conservation and how to manage them around people. I'm in my 3rd year of a PhD at UNSW. So pretty big on all things wildlife and nature. I'm originally from the UK but have also lived and worked in South Africa and Botswana (again related to the wild things!). I'm into playing acoustic guitar, photography, working out with calisthenics and all things Formula 1.

Looking for hopefully a good mate as well as a housemate, with potential to join the lease if all is working for both of us (lease is until Jan 2027). I imagine a relaxed come and go kind of house where we can do our own things as well as sometimes share meals, watch a movie or grab a drink at a local pub.

If keen or have questions, please shoot me a message and let me know a bit about yourself!
