Cammeray is a rare Lower North Shore pocket: leafy, affluent, village-like, and only around 5 km from Sydney’s CBD — close enough for genuine convenience, far enough to feel peaceful. There is a strong local strip along Miller Street with cafés and everyday essentials, plus easy access to green space including Tunks Park on Middle Harbour (around a 15-minute walk).
Cammeray is also recognised as a safe, family-friendly suburb, with BOCSAR (NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research) derived suburb summaries indicating very low recorded violent crime levels.
The standout for commuters: a short 7-minute walk (450 metres) to Cammeray Shops for an express bus straight to the CBD (Bridge Street) — around 10 minutes outside heavy congestion (traffic dependent).
For anyone not familiar with the area, you’re also within walking distance of major transport hubs: around 20 minutes’ walk to the Crows Nest Metro (1.4km) and around 20 minutes’ walk to St Leonards Station (1.5km).
