Other information
This lovely room is available for a 12 month rental agreement, The room itself has a large, well-designed mirrored wardrobe, and is carpeted with a great sized window with roll-down black out blinds. This room would suit a double bed and a few other furniture items. I am seeking to find a likeminded flatmate who would ideally want to stay for the full lease agreement (May 2024-April 2025), however, to ensure we are well-suited for each other, we would start with a 5 or 6 month agreement and check in :)

Home Description

Description of the home

Hiya potential flatmate,

My quaint, cosy home is located in Gladesville in a well-sought after location on a quiet tree-lined street. Within a 10 minute walk, you have access to cafes and restaurants on Victoria road, including the Bayview Hotel, the shopping centre (Coles, etc.), gyms, buses and more. Hop on a bus to the city in 30 minutes or 15 minutes’ drive; or head the opposite direction to Top Ryde in 20. Within the area are several water-front parks as well, and fantastic running routes. This suburb is gorgeous, safe, practical, and is a good balance between close, but not too close to the busyness of Sydney living. I have only just moved in a 2 weeks ago, but the home has ben set up and unpacked and ready for a flatty. While the house is furnished, I’m very happy to brainstorm with my new flatmate to tailor the space to suit us both.

This 2 bedroom flat is in excellent condition, is airy bright and welcoming with a lovely private courtyard as well as an outdoor space for entertaining in the back, which includes a covered deck with fantastic sunset views which I am looking to set up with a BBQ in future. It has a combined kitchen/living/dining which opens up to both a grassy area one way and the deck in another direction. The kitchen has gas cooking/oven, dishwasher, and plenty of pantry/kitchen storage space for those who love to cook it up. The house (minus the bedroom) is fully furnished, friendly and comfortable, & NBN internet all set up. I am a plant lover whose collection seems to be ever-growing, so there are many plants both inside and out. No requirement to be a plant person yourself, so long as you don’t mind their presence.

I take great care to be as eco-friendly and cost-efficient as possible, which includes composting, recycling, minimising waste where possible, and just generally being mindful. I am hoping that this mentality will be shared by my flatmate. Additionally, this is a strictly non-smoking household and therefore am looking for a non-smoker flatmate. This flat would suit someone both with or without a car. There is plenty of very private street parking right outside, and it is a short walk to the main road for buses.

About the occupants
I am clean, considerate, love to be social with friends where time allows, but also enjoy being calm quiet and crafty. I have lived with flatmates for many years, and have been lucky to have made life-long friends through it; most recently I lived alone, and am looking forward to living with a flatmate again. As a full-time working professional in health and medical research, I am typically out of the house 3 days a week and working from home for 2. On the weekends I usually have both down time at home and equal time out and about catching up with friends. I enjoy cooking, the occasional creative outlet, soccer & running, gardening, and just being silly and having a laugh.
Compatible people
I am looking for a drama-free addition to my home, someone who is also looking to build a peaceful home environment and a friendly relationship with a flatmate. Ideally you are someone responsible and considerate who has experience sharing a flat with others, i.e. cleans up after yourself, and understands the dynamic of a shared space such as importance of communicating needs, and being accountable with house chores and routines where they impact each other’s time/space. With previous flatmates, I have enjoyed the occasional catch-ups over dinner or drinks, or a lazy coffee morning, but there are no real expectations other than that we respect each other’s space.
Description of pets
I have a 4 year old indoor cat named Rona who is very social and interactive. She has lived both with people who love cats and those who are indifferent to cats, but ideally I would hope that my flatmate would enjoy her quirky character and company, and be mindful and aware of her pet needs (e.g. keeping the screen doors closed, not leaving out hazardous things, having a play sometimes, etc.). Rona is very attentive, goes outside with me normally twice daily for a run/play and a wee, and she loves to play fetch with her fav toys. She knows many words and will always sit for a treat or come running in at the announcement of a ‘bug.’ A hilarious character and great housemate.
