Description of the home

The home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom contemporary apartment, with a communal pool, gym and BBQ area. You’ll have the spare bedroom which is furnished and use the shared bathroom. The home is a short 10-15 min walk to Rhodes Shopping Centre and a 10 min walk to Concord train station.Of course there is ample parking as well for those with a vehicle. The home is air conditioned and has an internal laundry.

Bills and expenses

For the right person, the opportunity is to live with Dave rent free. In lieu of rent Dave will need help with certain tasks. You would do the shopping for Dave and be given money for that and you would need to cook a meal for him and yourself on the weekends. Dave has regular support workers who come in the morning and evening during the week so no meal preparation would be required then. Dave would also like someone to watch TV with him and take him to the pub for lunch and to put bets on. Someone who has an interest in sports and movies would be a plus as these are some of Daves favourite things along with quiz shows.

We’re looking for someone who is kind, honest and mature minded. You will understand the ins and outs of living with someone and be patient in helping Dave understand this too. You value clear communication and understand the necessity of clear speech when talking with Dave. You are ethically aligned and understand the right for people with disabilities to have choice and control in their lives and live independently.
