Description of the home

Hi! My housemate is leaving our 2-bed flat in Marrickville and so now I’m looking for someone great to fill his spot on the new lease.

It’s a bright 5th-floor apartment with a very nice balcony overlooking Illawarra Road. The apartment has an open-plan kitchen and living room, already fully furnished with love featuring a beloved big orange couch, lots and lots of plants, awesome kitchen appliances like an air fryer, vitamix blender, cool Japanese knife, and a molcajete (my pride and joy).

Yours is a double bedroom - unfurnished, buuut my housemate might be open to selling things if needed. Since the house has two bathrooms, you get exclusive use of the bathroom connected to the living room/kitchen (however, this bathroom has the washer/dryer in it so will need to provide access for that). There's also a downstairs parking space if you need it.

Location is right on Illawarra Road, right next to Little Vietnam, so close to lots of great restaurants and bars. We’re a 3 minute walk to a Woolworths and One Playground, 10 mins from all the breweries. Marrickville station (1 min away) will be reopening in 2026 (finally) which will mean trains to the city in like 10 mins.

You’ll be sharing with me, Jared (he/him), a 36 year old product designer working in tech. I’m very active and social, during the week I’m at work and spend most evenings out doing hobbies - mostly latin dancing and climbing. I’m vegan and love cooking.

Whilst I’m out of the house a lot during the week, I’m still looking for someone who’s more than a housemate, I’d love to make a new friend and spend time together on weekends! LGBTQ+ friendly of course.

Price is $410/week. The one-year lease starts on Saturday 24th of January, but there’s some flexibility if you need to move in earlier. Bond is $880 each. Bills (gas, electric, internet) are about $120/month each.
