Home Description

Description of the home

The apartment is recently fully renovated and is furnished but the bedroom is unfurnished. It comes with our own private courtyard area off of the living room and a lock up garage that I’m using as storage temporarily but can also be used for any art or diy projects you might have 😊. However, there is plenty of all day street parking surrounding the apartment so finding a park is rarely an issue.

The apartment is on the ground floor and there is a fridge, microwave, electric stove/oven, air fryer, dishwasher and an internal laundry in the apartment with washer and dryer included (all appliances mentioned are brand new). It also has double glazed windows throughout so is super quiet.

The Neighbourhood:
It is walking distance to a lot of restaurants, cafes (including the popular Albermarle just a few steps up the street) and Woolworths is a 10 min walk away.

If gardening is your thing, there is a large community garden just behind the building. If sports are your thing, Steel Park and H J Mahoney are a short walk away.

Getting around:
There is a bus just around the corner that takes you to the CBD and passes USYD and UTS campuses along the way (412 bus).

The metro in Marrickville is also close by (meant to be operational at the end of this year but that’s what they said last year…). Plenty of Lime bikes are always around but it’s also walkable to a lot of places around the main parts of Marrickville.

I look forward to hearing from you if you're interested!

Bills and expenses

Electricity and internet bills are excluded in the rent price. They are paid monthly and we would split them 50/50. There is no gas at the apartment so that is not applicable. There are solar panels on the roof so electricity bills are pretty inexpensive.

About occupants
My name is Tamara and I am a queer female working full time at a university, and looking for someone to rent out my spare bedroom. I love football (soccer), spending time with my dog, going to the beach, discovering new hobbies, trying new food places with friends, and cooking. I also coach football for a queer football club nearby. I like a good chat but enjoy doing my own thing too.

I wfh 2 days a week and work on campus the other 3 days.

I'm pretty laidback - the apartment is more of a sanctuary and a place to relax rather than a party flat (I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs) and I value a quiet, clean and tidy home.
Compatible people
I'm looking for a flatmate who is preferably working full time or studying/working, enjoys good conversations but also likes doing their own thing, loves dogs obv, clean and tidy, and is considerate of others.

I prefer someone who doesn’t smoke or do drugs, and preferably doesn’t drink too much. No couples please.
Description of pets
I have a dog who is a 4 year old Mini Schnoodle (mini schnauzer x mini poodle) named Olive. She is fully toilet trained (only goes to the bathroom outside) and is a small to medium size dog. Olive is a hypoallergenic apartment dog that does not shed and rarely barks, even during fireworks or when other dogs are barking. She is very friendly, does not destroy property, and is fine when left alone in the apartment. She’s used to being an only dog child though so no other pets are permitted in the apartment.
