Home Description
Description of the home
Bright, spacious home in a quiet, family-friendly neighbourhood, while still being right in the heart of everything Newtown has to offer. Just a 5-minute walk to Newtown Station, 1 minute from Woolworths, and around 8 minutes to King Street with all its restaurants, bars, cafés and shops. Erskineville is also only an 8-minute walk away, including its train station, pubs and local shops.
The house has air conditioning throughout, which can be automated to keep the home cool or warm when needed. There’s also a huge backyard with loads of space for entertaining, gardening, planting or just enjoying the outdoors. There’s rear access via a garage door, with the potential to park a car out back if it fits.
It’s also a great spot for runners, with an easy route towards Sydney Park and plenty of great running options nearby.
It’s genuinely a great house and I’m sad to be leaving it. You get the best of both worlds here: a peaceful home and neighbourhood, while being only minutes from everything Newtown and Erskineville have to offer.

Bills and expenses
Bills are split evenly between the three people in the house and are generally pretty reasonable.
Wi-Fi is around $65 per month total, water is roughly $60 per month total, and gas is usually around $80 per month total. Electricity varies depending on usage but generally works out at around $80 each per month. Most bills are charged quarterly, so overall they’ve always felt pretty manageable and never like a massive extra expense.

Bal works from home as a lawyer but tends to start his days pretty late, so if you’re an office worker you’ll barely see him in the mornings, and he’s often out in the evenings. Michelle works as a bartender and spends quite a bit of time out or at her boyfriend’s, so most of the time you’re really only sharing the bathroom with Bal.
The house genuinely feels pretty quiet and like you have the place to yourself a lot of the time. Everyone’s clean, reliable with bills and easy to live with. It’s a very relaxed household where you can be social when you want to be, but there’s absolutely no pressure to be.
Beyond that, there’s really not much to it. I’m moving out, so ultimately it’s about finding someone who gets along well with the rest of the house. Everyone’s pretty relaxed and independent, so as long as you’re considerate, clean up after yourself and are generally easy to live with, you’ll fit in perfectly.
