About occupants
Hi there,

I’m a professional female working full-time in the not-for-profit sector, and I’ve lived in this apartment for 20 years. It’s a small, peaceful and comfortable home in a fantastic Newtown location, around a 5–7 minute walk to Sydney Uni and close to public transport, cafés, restaurants, bars, independent shops and all the colour of King Street.

The room would suit a quiet, tidy university student or working professional who is looking for a calm home base rather than a busy social share house. The setup has worked especially well with university and international students in the past, particularly those whose main focus is study and who spend time on campus, or at work out during the week.

I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, so ideally those days would not clash with your own routine. Since Covid, the small dining area has become my permanent work-from-home space.

The apartment is cosy and works best as a peaceful home for two people. It isn’t really set up for regular visitors or overnight guests, and the shared areas are limited. It would suit someone fairly independent who is happy spending time in their room, on campus, at work, or out and about.

I’m friendly and enjoy a good chat once I get to know someone. I love travel, films, photography, food, art, current affairs and trying to keep fit, but I also value quiet time, privacy and a respectful home environment.

I have a gorgeous, very friendly male tuxedo cat, so you would need to be a cat lover, or at least genuinely comfortable living with a cat.

I usually do my own thing for food, but I’m happy to share cleaning and common household products. I’m also happy to occasionally share a wine, beer, coffee or chat, while still respecting each other’s privacy and downtime.

The ideal person would be quiet, tidy, considerate, honest, easy to communicate with, reliable with cleaning, and looking for a longer-term place to live — ideally 12 months or more.

If you’re looking for a peaceful room in Newtown, close to Sydney Uni and public transport, and this sounds like the right fit for you, please get in touch and tell me a little about yourself.

Cheers,
Martine

My ideal room mate is uni student who's main focus is study. I value, honesty, respect of boundaries, open mindedness, sense of humour, and compassion. Great communication is key to happy shared living (and a sense of humour).

If you’re quiet, tidy, pitch in with cleaning, love to have a banter about wordly topics over the occasional wine/coffee as well as respecting each other’s privacy then get in touch!
Oh and looking for a long-term tenant, 12 months would be ideal.
Description of pets
I have a gorgeous and super friendly male tuxedo cat, so being a cat lover or able to tolerate cats is essential.
