About occupants
My name is Jackie and I am 57 years old and live with an ABI ( acquired brain injury). I am looking for one friendly, patient and compassionate female housemate to move in with me as a supportive housemate. (Read for more details)

I have support workers that assist me daily, so you must be ok with people coming into the home. I am also very close to my son and my ex-partner who I see every week.
I am quite particular about my space as I have been here and lived this way for almost 20 years. I see my home as my safe space and have low tolerance of loud music, parties, smoking, uncleanliness and unfamiliar people staying over.

People who know me well describe me as intelligent, funny, confident, loyal and honest. I have completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts & history and so I really enjoy going to museums. I also love going to the gym, swimming, eating healthy and painting. I prefer to get out and about, but if and when I am at home, I love watching game shows (like mastermind and who wants to be a millionaire) , playing bubble shoot on my phone, and gardening. I’d like to be able to find more things to do at home.

It is important to me that I can establish a positive relationship with my housemate, where we have opportunities to socialise, whilst also respecting and understanding the value of time to ourselves.

I am looking for a housemate I can share my interests with, who is calm and patient, organised and motivated and who is open-minded. The right person would be a female and experience with ABI will be viewed favourably. It is also important that you have, or are willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR certification.

This is quite a unique arrangement, where my supportive housemate would live in their own room, free of rent and utilities. This arrangement would be based on the agreement that you provide me with companionship, mentoring, some direct support and overnight (inactive) safeguarding support for a minimum 5 nights per week. In exchange for your time, you will pay no rent and you will be paid a modest weekly stipend (taxable income) depending on your commitment and what we agree on. You will need to have an ABN to receive the stipend.

If that sounds like you and you are interested in finding out more, please get in contact and someone from my support team will be in touch!
