Other information
A beautiful, spacious bedroom featuring a comfortable queen-sized bed and plenty of natural light. The room includes a large corner desk with a chair and computer monitor — perfect for working or studying from home. There’s ample storage with a freestanding wardrobe offering hanging space, plus a pretty large cupboard with shelves for personal belongings. The timber flooring is complemented by an included rug, adding warmth and comfort underfoot. The room has double-glazed windows that provide excellent sound insulation and keep the space very quiet. Large windows with fully blackout blinds ensure privacy and restful sleep, while letting in great natural light during the day. There are also some lovely plants on a floating shelf that can be relocated if needed, adding a fresh, calming touch.

The bedroom has its own private ensuite bathroom and peaceful views overlooking the fully private backyard deck and garden. It receives warm, gentle sunlight in winter, while staying shaded and cool during the summer — a perfect balance for year-round comfort. For extra warmth and personalized temperature control in winter, the room is equipped with an oil heater, complementing the central air conditioning system that serves the whole home.

Utilities (water, gas, electricity & internet) are $100 a month

Home Description

Description of the home

Beautiful, peaceful two-bedroom, two-bathroom granny flat tucked away behind the main house — fully detached with no shared walls and complete privacy.

The flat faces a shared front garden with views of the pool, while both bedrooms open out onto a fully private back deck and garden area. Out the back, you'll find a large outdoor table, comfy chairs, and a fire pit — perfect for slow mornings, cozy evenings, or the occasional relaxed hangout.

Inside, the space feels calm, open, and homely. The open-plan living and dining area flows into a well-equipped kitchen, and there's central air conditioning (heating & cooling) throughout. The space is filled with natural light during the day, especially in winter, and stays shaded and cool during the hotter months.

Some of the features include:

- Modern decor and timber flooring with a cozy rug
- Comfy lounge and projector setup for movie nights
- 4-seat dining table next to the kitchen
- New oven and stovetop, dishwasher, and benchtop appliances
- Shared fridge and all standard kitchenware
- Fast, reliable Wi-Fi — great for working from home or streaming
- Internal laundry with:
- Extra-large washing machine
- Large dryer
- Camping gear available to borrow
- Lots of plants throughout the home — they bring a lovely, calm energy to the space

📍 Location perks:
- Located on a quiet, leafy street with lots of free, non-permit street parking
- 10–15 minute walk to Westfield Eastgardens and Oscar Place for shopping, groceries, and gyms
- 4-minute drive to Maroubra Junction and Pacific Square
- Walking distance to bus stops, with the light rail just a short drive or bus ride away
- Mutch Park is right across the road, beautiful for walks, sunshine, spotting cute dogs, or hiring tennis and soccer courts
- 8min drive to Maroubra beach and 10min drive to Coogee Beach

🐾 While we don’t have pets inside the granny flat, the main house is home to a gentle Beagle (Milo) and a cuddly rescue cat (Pipa), who love saying hello if you’re open to it. Because of them, unfortunately we can’t accommodate any additional pets.

This is a calm, conscious space — not a party house. I value early nights, mindful living, and creating a peaceful environment to recharge and feel grounded. If you're someone who appreciates a tidy, relaxed home and values good energy, mutual respect, and shared care, this might be the perfect fit.

Bills and expenses

All essential utilities are included in the rent — electricity, gas, water, and fast, reliable internet. This means no extra monthly bills for these services.

Cleaning is optional but encouraged for a tidy, comfortable home. I usually vacuum weekly and mop and wipe surfaces about every fortnight to keep things fresh. We can organise a cleaner to come weekly and split the cost, or share the cleaning duties ourselves — whichever suits us best.

Garbage collection is handled by the people I rent from, so we don’t need to put bins out. However, we do need to empty our bins on Thursdays to ensure they’re ready for collection on Friday morning and to avoid overloading.

For consumables like toilet paper and cleaning supplies, we can discuss a fair sharing arrangement depending on the length of your stay.

About occupants
Hey, I’m Neus — I’m 29 and work as a lecturer at UTS. I’m also an aerialist and instructor, so movement and creativity are a big part of my life. I live pretty consciously and like to keep a calm, tidy home where things feel spacious, peaceful, and respectful.

I’m quite active and love being outdoors in the sun, spending time in nature or with the people I care about. I’m really mindful of energy and see home as a nourishing place to land at the end of the day. I’m also a bit plant-obsessed — they bring a lot of life and serenity to the space.

I’m open to living with someone who’s also considerate and grounded — happy to share the occasional chat or meal, and I’d love to build a warm, supportive home together, with a balance of social connection and respect for each other’s space and rhythms.
Compatible people
I’m looking for someone who’s respectful, clean, and values a peaceful home. Ideally you’re someone who’s also into conscious living or self-development, or just appreciates a calm and mindful space. I tend to keep things pretty low-key — early nights, no parties — so someone with a similar vibe would be a great fit.

I’d love to live with someone who’s easygoing, considerate, and happy to share the occasional chat or meal, while also respecting each other’s space. Someone who’s self-aware and values good communication would be ideal. I would love to create a home together
