About the occupants
Hey! My name is Deccie (short for Declan).

I'm a friendly, emotionally-intelligent, respectful 28-year-old Aussie with a strong moral compass who grew up on the Northern Beaches and have lived all around Sydney since. I work Monday to Friday at the office in recruitment for a purpose-driven organisation, I love my job very much. Outside of work, I love spending time with my mates and have more hobbies than I know what to do with. You'll find me at gym, watching Formula1, playing (a lot) of video games, listening to (once again, a lot) of music, going to concerts and festivals, getting to the snow whenever possible, playing board games, skateboarding, having beers with mates or just relaxing and proudly doing absolutely nothing at home.

I enjoy being social, but I regularly need to recharge my social batteries and will very happily spend an entire day or two at home a week enjoying my own company. I don't often have people round as I'll usually go out to spend time with my mates, and I'm fairly quiet when at home, so the apartment is always a very relaxed, clean and tidy space.

I'm very respectful of other peoples thoughts, feelings, opinions, space and time. My mental health and that of others is incredibly important to me. I believe your home is where you should feel most at ease and be able to unwind in an environment that fits you and not the other way around. I'm a very good communicator and problem solver and never let things fester or get brushed under the carpet.

I'm proudly gay, but tend to steer clear of the gay scene and have mostly straight mates, so I'd get on very well with a straight male housemate. I'm open to living with other non-scene gay men.
Compatible people
This is my first time looking to live with a stranger, and I'll admit I'm a little anxious about it. I'd love to find someone to live with who shares similar values to mine: transparency, loyalty, integrity and respect. I'd love to live with someone who also sees their home as a safe space where they can always feel comfortable and accepted. Someone who is friendly, reliable, clean, communicative, respectful, mature and emotionally intelligent. I have two very social and cuddly cats, so my ideal scenario is to live with someone who won't just coexist with them, but love and build trust with them, too.

I am a social person, but I can get a little anxious around new people, so I'd prefer a living environment where there aren't regularly strangers in the apartment who I'm never going to meet again. The apartment is great for entertaining and I encourage you to bring friends and family around, but I wouldn't feel comfortable living in a weekly party or kick on house. I'd also prefer for my housemate to be a non-smoker.

Above all, I just want to live with someone I'm happy to see when I come home. Who I can build a friendship with, laugh and joke around with, share hobbies and interests, be involved in each other's lives a little bit, enjoy each others company but also be totally comfortable giving each other space and privacy when we need it.

I'm happy to redecorate/redesign any of the common areas to help the apartment feel more like your home and not like you've just moved into mine.
Description of pets
I have two cats, Arkie and Teddy. Both cats are very sweet in nature, well-behaved and clean.

Arkie is a female adult Ragdoll cat. She likes her own space and can be a little timid, but regularly will come looking for affection and companionship. She quite likes just being around people and loves to be pet, so she's great at giving you space but also welcoming you into hers.

Teddy is a female chocolate Burmese kitten. She's extremely cuddly and affectionate and dog-like in a lot of ways. Teddy will often come outside with me and wander around off-leash at the park while I hang out with mates, or perch on my shoulder while I skate to and from the shops. She's known to convert a lot of exclusively dog-people.

Both cats love to snuggle and will happily rug up with you for hours.
