About the Apartment:
I've been living in this apartment for almost 3 years.
As far as apartments go, the walls are actually really well insulated so I rarely hear the neighbours. It feels very private.
The apartment itself is modern and clean. I adore the view from the balcony. It's the main reason I moved in here.
There's a dishwasher, gas cooktop (we don't have to pay for gas), decent sized balcony that catches the sun in winter, and the bathroom has a European laundry and shower over a big bathtub.
I have a coffee machine, modern fridge, microwave, brand new washing machine and all household items already, so all you'll need is your bedroom furniture. There's a storage cage in the garage if you have suitcases or a few boxes to store, as well as a secure bike storage area.
I have a smart TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime. As well as Chromecast connected. The stereo has Bluetooth to stream from your phone or computer. I usually like to have some chilled Spotify tunes on when I'm hanging out at home. I'm always happy to hear new music, so if we have different tastes, even better.
The Building:
The building is safe and secure and the other residents in the building are all really friendly and helpful. During lockdown it was like a little community. We have a Facebook group for the building and everyone is so generous and open to helping each other.
The communal courtyard and herb garden are pretty great. It's a really big private outdoor space with a lemon tree and herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, thai-basil, sage, rosemary etc) which we can use as much as we like.
There's also a communal library in the foyer. Residents can use it as a reading room, as well as take and exchange books as we please.
Despite being just 15 mins drive from the city, it's not bustling and crazy busy like the south-east side, but instead it's quiet and relaxed. Family orientated with lots of parks. Everything you need is in walking distance.
Amenities:
We're 5 mins walk to Coles, Union Street cafes, post office, dry cleaners, The Happy Apple green grocer, as well as a brand new Metro Woolies. Flemington Racecourse and Ascot Vale Leisure Centre gym/pool are also 3 mins walk. Highpoint Shopping Centre is a 5 minute drive, or 30 minute walk from the apartment.
Transport:
The 57 tram stop is 1 min walk, right at the end of the street, and it's about 15-20 mins to the city.

Bills and expenses
Internet is $35 each per month (NBN).
Electricity and water together are around $40 each a month depending how much we use the air con/heater. Electricity is billed monthly, and water is billed quarterly.
It's a bright apartment so we don't need lights on during the day, and it gets sunlight through the whole day in winter, so it's not as cold as the rest of Melbourne. In summer the sun is directly overhead, so we don't get the brunt of the heat. North facing is the best set up.

Normally I head out with mates for lunch/dinner on the weekends, go to the beach, or see a band or new movie, and I tend to travel interstate to see family 3-4 times a year.
I love a tidy chilled home, I'm not a party person. I'm not gonna lie, I do enjoy the nana life of an evening. I don't have visitors over very often, but when I do, I always check in with my housemate to see if they're okay with having a visitor in the apartment. It's a shared space so I'm respectful of other's needs for privacy.
I enjoy cooking, and eat pretty healthy most of the time with the occasional Uber eats indulgence. I try to hit the gym 3 times a week and love to go for walks on the river when the weather permits.
I love checking out new TV series and films - it's my industry, so I try to stay up to date. I'm not much of a reality TV person, but I adore Masterchef because I'm a foodie.
I always have projects I'm working on and a fairly active social life, so there's likely to be at least a couple nights a week when you'll have the place to yourself. But I'm also happy to have a meal and catch up chats with my housemate, and a movie night here and there.
I'm looking for a housemate who want's to live in a tranquil light filled home. Someone who has their own thing going on, but also loves a good catch up chat.
If you enjoy a bit of Netflix and also live a healthy lifestyle, great! But all I expect from a housemate is that we respect each other's boundaries, keep the place tidy, and communicate about household things. :)
Full time student bookworms, working professionals and motivated working creatives welcome!
I'm keen to live with someone who does their own thing but is open to good conversation and the occasional movie night.
So if you're tidy with a positive outlook and know how to communicate, then hit me up to come see the place.
