Hi, I’m Alan — 49, single, no kids, no drama… and currently losing a very one-sided battle with Brisbane’s flatmate algorithms, which seem to believe only 23-year-old women with houseplants deserve housing.
I work full-time in asset management and valuations, so I’m out most days earning money to… pay rent. Wild concept, I know. I’m looking for a place for 6 months minimum, ideally longer — I’m not here for a short-term fling with a microwave and a couch.
I’m clean, respectful, financially stable, and shockingly responsible. I replace toilet paper, I don’t leave dishes “to soak” for 48 hours, and I won’t eat your food unless it’s clearly labelled “anyone”.
Outside of work I’m into the gym (love-hate relationship), cooking, long walks, and Netflix. I’m social but not a party animal — more “friendly adult share house” than “2am DJ in the lounge”.
If you’re sick of flaky housemates, awkward silences, or people who disappear when the rent is due, I’m your guy.
