About this person
Personal Introduction
I’m a 53-year-old architect and director of one of the oldest and most established architectural practices in Geelong. I work regular, predictable hours and live a very quiet, clean and simple lifestyle. I’m a non-smoker, non-drinker and do not use drugs. Home, for me, is a place of calm, respect and routine.
While my practice has been successful for many years, since around 2023 I’ve gradually realised I’ve achieved what I set out to in the profession. Seeing many long-standing colleagues step away due to health or financial pressures has also prompted a thoughtful reassessment of priorities. As a result, I’m intentionally simplifying and downsizing, moving toward a lower-stress, more balanced lifestyle, with a longer-term transition toward flexible FIFO-style work and greater freedom to travel.
This is a considered and steady change rather than a sudden one. I’m looking for a peaceful, well-run home that supports a calm and respectful way of living during this transition.
I’ve worked across a wide range of fields — including carpentry, academia (mathematics), analysis and architecture — and have spent my working life collaborating with people from many backgrounds. I’m naturally quiet, independent and low-impact, but friendly, considerate and easy to live with. I value open communication, mutual respect and clear boundaries within a shared home.
I’m reliable, financially stable and take pride in keeping shared spaces clean and well cared for. I pay rent on time, respect house rules, and treat an owner-occupied home with the same care I would my own.
I’m ideally seeking a mature, low-key owner-occupied household that values peace, cleanliness, stability and a respectful living environment.

Important Personal Qualities
For me, a good flatmate relationship is built on mutual respect, consideration and clear communication. I value a calm, low-key home where everyone feels comfortable and at ease.
Cleanliness and care for shared spaces are important to me — not in an obsessive way, but through shared responsibility and pride in the home. I appreciate people who are naturally tidy, mindful of noise, and respectful of each other’s routines and privacy.
Reliability and honesty also matter. Paying rent on time, communicating early if something comes up, and being upfront about expectations helps create a stable and stress-free living arrangement. I value people who are easy to talk to and who address things calmly and directly.
While I’m quite independent and enjoy my own space, I also appreciate friendliness and courtesy — a relaxed chat, a hello in passing, and a general sense of goodwill in the household. I’ve lived and worked with people from many backgrounds and value kindness, emotional maturity and consideration for others.
Overall, I’m looking for a peaceful, respectful home with like-minded people who value simplicity, stability and a low-impact way of living.
Food sharing and furniture
I’m flexible and easy-going with food, furniture and household arrangements, and happy to work in with what’s already in the home. I can provide some basic furniture or household items if needed, and I’m also comfortable supplying and using my own things for cooking, cleaning and general home upkeep.
I enjoy gardening and landscape design and am happy to help care for a garden if there is one, in a practical, low-key way.
I generally prefer to cook my own meals, focusing on healthy, nutritious food. I’m not vegetarian or vegan, but tend to eat mostly plant-based meals with some meat occasionally. I enjoy cooking and baking and am always open to sharing a meal from time to time if it suits the household.
Overall, I’m self-sufficient, respectful of shared spaces, and happy to contribute positively to the home.
