Classic Darwin externally and internally louvred ground levelled house. Gets daily cool breeze from the sea along the Rapid Creek basin. Has large thatched gazebo with kitchen, pool table, two lounges and entertainment system where the owner essentially cooks and lives. Large trees, bamboo and pandanas - very shady and cool. Smallish room with double bed and own well appointed kitchen (incl dishwasher) and own freshly painted adjoining loungeroom/dining area.

About the occupants
Hi I'm Scott. I'm a 59 year old gay music educator (NT Dept of Ed) and long time Darwin/Arnhemland resident. Some of my interests including playing classical and other music (there is both a piano and a harpsichord in the house), vege gardening, walking, swimming stationary laps in my pool and meditating. You will be sharing the house with myself and a couple friends (one is my partner) from out of town that come and go. Also have a married daughter with new baby that will sometimes visit from Brisbane with her husband for a few days
Compatible people
The house can cater for 2 separate but nicely connected households quite well. Me and my associates cook and live out in the gazebo, it's kitchen and outside bathroom (with bedroom inside). This leaves the inside lounge, front porch, kitchen and bathroom essentially to yourselves. The cool shaded pool and gardens are shared equally by all. I'd love to reestablish my once prolific vegy garden.
Independent, respectful, friendly coexisting works really nicely. Of course the different areas are not mutually exclusive. The room renter is welcome to also hang out in the gazebo when they feel like it or want to entertain - it's thatched, cool and comfy with two sofas - and I will sometimes negotiate times to use the lounge room as the harpsichord is there (the piano lives in my bedroom). The renter is also welcome to use the outside screened bathroom along the side of the house if they want to shower in the shade of the giant pandanus trees!
