Bills and expenses
All standard household bills are split evenly between us and payable as they fall due (per bill cycle).
This includes:
• Electricity
• Gas
• Water
• Internet (unlimited 5G, approx. $40 per month each)
Happy to negotiate if you’d rather a different way to manage.
I’m open to having a cleaner if we both want one. I’ve previously had a cleaner come once a fortnight at around $250 per visit, which we could split if agreed. Happy to discuss what works best.
Food is a seperate expense. I work with “If I don’t buy it, I won’t eat it”… but I reckon sharing stuff like tomato sauce, Vegemite and dishwashing tablets is easier than having two sets of everything, so just use mine. Whatever works!

I’m 34 and work full-time in finance, splitting my week between working from home and the city. My job can be high pressure at times, so I really appreciate coming home to a space that feels calm and easy.
I really value living in a clean, respectful environment where everyone feels comfortable in their own space. During the week I’m fairly work-focused and keep things low-key, although I’ll often be out for dinner or working late here and there.
Outside of work, I enjoy catching up with friends, reading, hiking, travelling and occasionally mooching on the couch. I’m usually getting into whatever new fitness phase I’ve decided is my personality that month. Overall, it’s pretty classic mid-30s energy.
I’ll sometimes have friends over for a relaxed dinner during the week or on a weekend, and you’re very welcome to do the same. It’s definitely not a party house, but we all need a bit of fun, so birthdays or pre-drinks before heading out are completely fine as long as they’re planned and respectful.
I’m friendly and always up for a chat or the occasional movie night. I’m not specifically looking for a built-in best friend, but if that happened naturally, great. Ideally, we’d get along easily while both having our own independent lives, with no pressure to be “on” socially after a long work day. Very happy with my own time - that said, I’m always up for the occasional wine and unwind.
Ideally, you have your own routine and social life and are comfortable living independently. This isn’t a highly social share house dynamic, but you’re absolutely welcome to have friends over and use the space as your home.
I think the ideal setup is two adults who enjoy their own space, happily doing their own thing, but who can also come together for a chat or the occasional movie, wine, or dinner, if it suits. No pressure to constantly socialise, just an easy, respectful coexistence.
You’ll also need to be comfortable with dogs, as Greta is part of the household.
She’s friendly with cats and dogs.
